Carrie Fisher’s HBO special Wishful Drinking, based on her one woman show which was based on her memoir, aired last night. Fisher has become something of a gay icon – her mother, her Leia-ness, her gay ex-husband, her attitude... She was interviewed again by The Advocate and was asked about John Travolta. Full Story

While every serious actor is putting on an award season face as the critics line up with their “best” lists and Oscar campaigning begins in earnest, Justin Timberlake, who desperately wants a nomination, had to pose with Yogi the other day at the premiere of the Yogi Bear movie. Pippy probably had himself a little temper tantrum in the car after this. Full Story

Royal cuddles!

Thoughts on the official royal engagement portraits? They were taken by Mario Testino whose photographs of Diana are the princes’ favourites. Did you buy that book? Of course I bought that book. She is SO beautiful in that book. I’ve attached the two I like best. As for William and “Catherine”’s – the formal photo looks like their heads have been glued on, non? Especially his. Full Story

Why is Nic so mad?

Nicolas Cage is currently in Romania shooting, ugh, Ghost Rider 2. On the weekend he hit up a club, then was seen outside in a massive screaming match with a friend before storming off. You know in university when dudes get a little too juiced on a Saturday night and the bouncers throw them out and they end up spit-yelling at each other on the street while their girlfriends cry in the corner? I thought we were brothers, man! Bros for life, man. Full Story

Liz Hurley’s new beef jerky

Lorella and I were in England in August enjoying a little food porn at Selfridges and we laughed for an hour after walking by the snack food section when we saw a stand with pink packages featuring Elizabeth Hurley’s Beef Jerky. Photo is attached. I mean you have to be a certain kind of ghetto to slap your name on Beef Jerky. Full Story

Dear Gossips,

Last night I finally finished Gary Shteyngart’s Super Sad True Love Story. I’d started it when I came home from London at the end of August. Then TIFF happened and so much other sh-t but two days ago I picked it up again and thought of nothing else – except Misfits – until I read the very last word last night practically weeping.  Read Full Intro

Best of 2010: Virtue & Moir Vancouver 2010

Not sure where you are but here, in Canada, the Olympics were a big deal in 2010, an even bigger deal in Vancouver, where I live. Every Games produces darlings. There were several Canadian darlings. Among them Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir who took gold in Ice Dance. And they did it with a f-cking statement. Full Story

Worst of 2010: Chris Brown cries

Lainey Posted by Lainey at December 10, 2010 13:01:09 December 10, 2010 13:01:09

It happened in June. Six months ago and it still makes me sick. Chris Brown performed an MJ Tribute at the BET Awards. Instead of properly honouring the legend, he decided to make the occasion all about Chris Brown, breaking down into tears during Man in the Mirror, too “overcome” with fake emotion/false remorse/self love to sing the words, sobbing instead into his microphone as fangirls lost their sh-t over his “realness” and other people choked on the fontrum. Full Story

Cut Gwyneth, leave Garrett

Lainey Posted by Lainey at December 10, 2010 12:12:19 December 10, 2010 12:12:19

Thank you, or maybe no thank you, to those of you who’ve sent me the latest video featuring Garrett Hedlund in Country Strong with a few more clips from the movie, including love scene snippets between him and Leighton Meester. Please. Please if they have to cut anything from the film, as much as I love her, I’d rather they cut Gwyneth’s parts and leave everything that has Garrett. Full Story
