The Walking Dead Season 2 Episode 1 recap Welcome to the weekly recaps of The Walking Dead. When thinking about what to do for these recaps, I started thinking about how TWD is a true water cooler show. DVR has kind of eliminated the water cooler show as most everyone watches stuff off their DVR now which means everyone’s viewing schedules are messed up and chances are if you start trying to talk about a show at work/school/wherever, someone is going to scream “SPOILERS NOOOO” and run out of the room crying and cursing your mother. Full Story

The Descendants screened at the New York Film Festival last night. Buzz is so strong about this film, and George Clooney’s performance in it (directed by Alexander Payne, his first full length feature since the acclaimed Sideways) has people practically guaranteeing an Oscar nomination. All this on top of The Ides of March which also could contend at the Kodak. Full Story

Dear Gossips,

The new Footloose opens today. It’s rating better than expected, and better than, say, Julia Roberts’s Fireflies in the Garden, but still not enough to make me want to go. And, um, I’m the target market. In the sense that I never miss a movie about high school kids dancing.  Read Full Intro

Prince William and Catherine were at St James’s Palace last night for the 100 Women in Hedge Funds gala dinner, raising money for the Child Bereavement Charity.  Kate seems to favour this jersey material. I think it’s a little on the...casual side? Or maybe it’s that belt tie that’s throwing me off. Full Story

Beyonce’s sizing

Beyonce stepped out today in New York. And here we go with the people who’ve been saying all week that her bump business is fake. And now I have to do something that makes me sick. I have to point out that one of the signs, to me anyway, that it’s not fake is that... she’s actually bigger everywhere. Full Story

Here’s a gross one to kick off your weekend. If you’re prudey and squeamish, you may want to skip it. We’re women. Sometimes the cycle, it’s hard to control. How many times have you heard someone complain that her holiday was happening right when the menses were too? (Menses is the MOST hilarious word to me, by the way. Full Story

The Ringer gets going

The Ringer Season 1 Episode 6 recapThe good part of missing an Episode of Ringer is that they give you a really thorough recap of what you missed.   The bad part is that you have to wonder if the plot reveals felt subtler when they weren’t in a highlight reel.   Also, I missed the first time that Bridget tells someone she isn’t Siobhan. Full Story

Susan Sarandon was in Toronto earlier this week at the opening of SPiN, the ping-pong social club she's been supporting for a while in New York. Ping-pong is a big Hollywood deal these days. All the parties I've been to this year, there are ping-pong tables set up and famous people lining up to play, vigourously. Full Story

Rachel’s Hat

Sasha Posted by Sasha at October 14, 2011 18:16:56 October 14, 2011 18:16:56

Any idea where Rachel McAdams got her hat in today's post of her at the airport? Love love love! Thank you! MDid I tell you the time I lunched with Rachel McAdams?  And by ‘lunched’ I mean sat one foot away from her? Whatever, same thing.  I was with my friend Dean last month and instead of getting some dirt street meat we decided to go somewhere with utensils. Full Story
