BAFTA Worst Maroon Matron: Neve Campbell

Lainey Posted by Lainey at February 14, 2011 00:44:00 February 14, 2011 00:44:00

Written by Duana Email exchange: Lainey: Unless - do you care about Neve Campbell? Because YIKES.Me: She is my girl crushLainey: Oh Christ. Yes, ‘another one’. The facts are as follows: Campbell is Canadian, and before she was Julia Salinger, she played a parallel-universe Brenda Walsh type (well, if Brenda was chilled) called Daisy on a show called Catwalk. Full Story

BAFTA Ron Weasley: Rupert Grint

Lainey Posted by Lainey at February 14, 2011 00:28:52 February 14, 2011 00:28:52

He was there to celebrate Harry Potter’s Outstanding British Contribution To Cinema. Good timing. The BAFTAs are sandwiched between the release of the Deathly Hallows Part 1, which of course happened in November, and Part 2 which is scheduled for July 15th. Is it July 15th yet? Among so many other things, I want to see how it plays out, when Ron and Hermione finally acknowledge their love. Full Story

BAFTA you can do better: Hailee Steinfeld

Lainey Posted by Lainey at February 14, 2011 00:23:20 February 14, 2011 00:23:20

Have been really, really impressed with Hailee Steinfeld’s awards season and premiere style choices. Her selection for the BAFTAs however fell a little short of standard. Not feeling the tricked out sheer top. Not feeling whatever it is that’s coming out of her waist. Reminds me of Mad Men and Christina Hendricks which, is fine for Hendricks, but maybe not a 14 year old who’s been doing a great job of looking 14 in an industry and on a circuit that ages people too quickly. Full Story

BAFTAs 2011

Lainey Posted by Lainey at February 14, 2011 00:17:37 February 14, 2011 00:17:37

I really, really love the British star system. I wish Canada would encourage a star system. There are stars in Britain who are super, super, super famous there and no one knows who the f-ck they are outside their borders. Like those girls in Girls Aloud. I’m not actually sure how many Girls Aloud there are. Full Story

Welcome to the Grammy Awards 2011 LiveBlog! Lady Gaga arrived in an Egg! Good start or bad start?

Thanks for joining us for the next, oh, 4 hours or so? We’re covering the arrivals for an hour and then going right into the show. And, sigh, I’m actually not sure why those creatures from Jersey Shore are there. But I’m also tired of asking this question. There’s obviously no reasonable answer. And it keeps happening over and over again anyway.

Having said that, those people were told to come like two hours before the real stars. So, you know, there’s that. Because if I’m Beyonce, Sasha Fierce refuses to be on the carpet at the same time as that drunken little troll. All that and more…

Are you ready?

Sarah from Cinesnark is with me the whole ride. Sasha’s around for the first hour and then she’s off to produce her fashion special. Thanks for joining us! I am so ready to quiver for Eminem.

Yours in gossip,

Lainey

PS. Full Grammys AND BAFTAs wrap-up tomorrow. It’s an allnighter! Stay up with me on Twitter at http://twitter.com/LaineyGossip.

Ryan, George, and Jazz

Lainey Posted by Lainey at February 11, 2011 12:45:26 February 11, 2011 12:45:26

Oh lucky you Cincinnati. George Clooney is making his movie there. On Wednesday he hit up the Blue Wisp Jazz Club with his parents, Ryan Gosling, Evan Rachel Wood, and a few others to hear the Big Band play. It wasn’t a terribly busy night. George bought drinks, he was friendly with the musicians, and he and Ryan were chill with the civilians, chatting with a group of students who had come there as part of their class. Full Story

GaGa Born This Way and Adele One & Only

Lainey Posted by Lainey at February 11, 2011 12:18:26 February 11, 2011 12:18:26

You know, I love Lady Gaga, but … I’m a little underwhelmed. Born This Way, the highly anticipated first single off of Gaga’s new album was released online today. The audio clip is below. You like it? Many are saying it’s a mashup of Express Yourself (the chorus) and Waterfalls (Believe capital H-I-M). Full Story
