Before presenting at the Oscars on Sunday, John Cho was at the UTA rally. Did you hear about this? UTA throws an Oscar party every year. And it’s one of the best parties to go to for gossip. The misbehaving Batman has been known to accumulate some of his secrets there. This year, however, instead of spending money on the party – around $250,000 – UTA decided to hold a rally instead and they donated the money to the American Civil Liberties Union and the International Rescue Committee. Full Story

Viggo Mortensen wasn’t there to win

Among the Best Actor nominees was the surprise inclusion of real-life Ghostbuster villain Viggo Mortensen, for Captain Fantastic. I didn’t care for the movie and if the Academy was going to use this nonsense year to pull out a little-seen performance from an offbeat movie, I wish they’d gone for Anton Yelchin in Green Room, but whatever. Full Story

The rules have changed. Throw out the playbook. The Oscars will never be the same ever again. So it’s fitting that Jimmy Kimmel was the host. Because what do we say about the Oscar hosts every year? “Ugh, they were boring. Full Story

Duana: We were done, you know. We were watching the show, of course, but Emma Stone’s win was obvious, and I don’t even think Lainey came all the way out of the bathroom for Damian Chazelle as Best Director, and then of course La La Land won Best Picture, like obviously, and then all of a sudden Michelle went “Stage Manager. Full Story

Smutty Tingles

Did you know John Cho is presenting at the Oscars? This is good news for all of us. Here he is last night at the Oscar Wilde Awards. And one quick note before we break until Sunday, the Spirit Awards are tomorrow so I’ll be posting photos in the LifeStyle section of the site.

Sunday night, Duana and I are aiming to start posting our Oscar recaps at 11pm PT/2am ET and going straight through to the next morning and afternoon so if you’re staying up, come join us. Happy Oscars!

Daniel Craig probably isn’t quitting Bond (The Superficial)

I have a hard time believing Selena Gomez would open for The Weeknd (Celebrity Dirty Laundry)

Yara Shahidi is probably one of few people who could pull off this outfit. It’s amazing on her. (Go Fug Yourself)

Today is the day of liking things I wish I hated. This morning, I wrote about how I love Slide, in spite of my extreme distain for Calvin Harris. When Emily sent over a video of The Voice coaches singing Waterfalls, one of my all-time favourite songs and TLC’s signature track, I was skeptical. Full Story
