Dear Gossips,

Black Swan had all the momentum after its opening at the Venice Film Festival. But all that could swing in favour of another film this weekend in Toronto – The King’s Speech, with Colin Firth and Geoffrey Rush, I can’t even tell you how f-cking good, how f-cking incredibly great it is, and they are, like fist-pumpingly so.  Read Full Intro

It’s late Friday night but I know you’ve missed him. So here’s a special Friday night post. James McAvoy is worthy of one, don’t you think? McAvoy is at TIFF for The Conspirator, directed by Robert Redford. TIFF will be the world premiere of the film. The gala screening of The Conspirator is tomorrow night. Full Story

Throughout the festival there may be times when Lainey is tied up and cannot write about a cool set of photos or won’t get to them until later in the week. We’re going to start posting a series of ‘Festival Photo Set’ articles featuring nothing more than photos and maybe a short description. They’ll be pretty fresh sets of premieres and pressers happening the same day. Here’s the first. - Jacek

Britney Spears is being sued by some former bodyguard for rubbing herself in front of him or some sh-t. Sexual harassment and being a bad mother. She says it’s bullsh-t. KFed believes her. TIFF 2010 FASHION

Lainey Posted by Lainey at September 10, 2010 11:15:48 September 10, 2010 11:15:48

And I’ll be honest: it’s sad seeing fashion that I can’t currently afford but it’s a cool way to get a few style cues from celebrities for the season ahead. Jacek went to play “business golf” today. I know. He left at 6:30am after I told him to get the hell out of my face because he kept talking when I was writing. Was listening to the radio on the way to the course. Had to bbm me about the Angelina Jolie story that everyone keeps talking about. Full Story

For Country Strong. Have you seen it? Where to begin? Garrett? Sure. We’ll begin where it’s strongest. Garrett Hedlund looks like he delivers. He has it, I think. He really really has it. As for my Gwyneth... Look, I think Gwyneth is a strong actor in the right role. She’s talented enough that sometimes it doesn’t even have to be the rightest role – Two Lovers is a good example of that and I thought she did a solid job. Full Story

Written by Sarah You go to enough of these things and you start to recognize the people, even if the faces change. That Starlet has problems, everyone knows about it but so far the public hasn’t gotten wind.
