Dear Gossips,

Over the last several weeks or so, half a dozen readers have been harassing me regularly about Misfits. OK fine. I did. And you were right. I am OBSESSED. Blazed through season 1 this weekend, am about to kick into Season 2, and now my worst, worst, WORST fear is that someone in Hollywood will try to adapt it for America and sh-t on the original.  Read Full Intro

Worst of 2010: Kellan Lutz in a tree

Lainey Posted by Lainey at December 6, 2010 13:42:00 December 6, 2010 13:42:00

We continue to recap the year’s best and worst. Back in February, Kellan Lutz wore an all-white outfit, and took the dog for a walk. The paps were around. And he really really wanted to read his book. So he climbed a tree. And was obviously fully engrossed. Photographers took his picture. His fans, the Twi-Hards, who are, as you know, learning impaired, seemed to think this was by accident. Full Story

Written by Duana Season 5, Episode 5 This week’s FNL is the most cohesive version of ‘the new class’ we’ve seen. They saw what they needed to do and gave us a group of boys ready and willing to bond, to see the greatness in what they’ve been given as a team. Full Story

Marion Cotillard: the inevitable question

Lainey Posted by Lainey at December 6, 2010 12:25:22 December 6, 2010 12:25:22

Marion Cotillard and Guillaume Cotillard attended the Marrakesh Film Festival this weekend – first the opening gala, where she wore that print dress with the feathers around the collar, and then the Tribute to French Cinema, where she was dressed in black, and on both occasions... I know what you’re about to say. Full Story

Carey & Cumberbatch

Carey Mulligan was named Best Actress last night at the British Independent Film Awards in London for Never Let Me Go. Carey looks great in the face – SO pretty – but I’m not into this dress. It’s like an apron. And also the black shoes. Not feeling those either. As for The Great Gatsby, Carey talked to the BBC about beating out so many others for the role of Daisy and gave some more detail about when production is to begin: “I'm still in shock. Full Story

Colin takes two

Lainey Posted by Lainey at December 6, 2010 09:50:14 December 6, 2010 09:50:14

While the National Board of Review awarded Best Actor to Jesse Eisenberg, The Washington DC Film Critics chose Colin Firth. Firth also took home the Best Actor award, not surprisingly, last night at the British Independent Film Awards in London. It’s undeniable that he’s the favourite, which is a great position to be in, but also a sucky one. Full Story

Where’s Garrett?

Lainey Posted by Lainey at December 6, 2010 09:27:30 December 6, 2010 09:27:30

TRON: Legacy premiered in London last night. Both Olivia Wilde and Jeff Bridges were there to support it. Also several members of the Glee cast. But no Garrett Hedlund. With movie budgets these days, overseas markets are a big deal. The UK market is a big deal. And for the film’s lead not to show. Full Story

Love & Other Drugs in Australia

Lainey Posted by Lainey at December 6, 2010 08:34:41 December 6, 2010 08:34:41

Anne Hathaway and Jake Gyllenhaal spent the weekend in Sydney promoting the movie. A reader there called Aphrodite K hit up the premiere and wrote me the cutest email with her observations. Today, December 6 2010, I had my first (brief, glorious) encounter with Jake Gyllenhaal, more affectionately known as Jakey G. Full Story
