John Mayer’s performative contrition
London Ent/ Splash News, AKM-GSI
John Mayer has a new album coming out. It’s called The Search For Everything. And it’s his return to, as he calls it, “blockbuster” music. Basically he says he was on a self-imposed exile from big pop because he hated himself after being a douchebag so he went off and wrote non-commercial music for a while and now he’s ready to come back to being a major pop force. Jake Gyllenhaal and Ryan Reynolds in 'Life'

Life is a terribly stupid movie, but it’s dumb in that fun B-movie way, a trashy space thriller full of dumb-sh*t dialogue and wildly convenient circumstances. Despite its stupidity, though, Life is decently scary because space is naturally horrifying as we are instinctively afraid of its vastness and convinced that some wet-looking space bug is going to rise from its depths to destroy us. Happy Birthday Erin from Amber who wishes you a year of “sleepy calm baby vibes and good football mojo!” And for Mary Christina who is marrying the “man of (her dreams”, a combination of Jon Hamm and Schmidt and Winston (Max Greenfield and Lamorne Morris). Dear Gossips,
Have you seen the headlines today about Ryan Gosling? About why he reacted like he did at the Oscars when Moonlight was revealed to be the true Best Picture? Specifically it was that shot of him on stage, smiling/smirking, with his hand over his mouth. Read Full Intro

Shade, unintentional gaffe, or inside joke? Judging by Nancy’s response (first time had typos, second time is just a correction), I think it’s the third option. Unless Nancy is operating at a high petty level and is scorching Kristi with social media kindness. But that’s wishful thinking. Full Story

I’m sorry in advance if what follows doesn’t come out quite right. What happened yesterday in London was senseless and terrible, of course it was. Is it OK to say that I admire so much how so many people reacted to the horror, helping in any way they could? That was courage and grace and humanity. Full Story
Three Billboards and Frances McDormand
NBC/ Getty Images
The first trailer for Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri was just released and all I really have to say is that in the course of two and a half minutes, Frances McDormand c*nt-punts a teenager, calls Sam Rockwell “f*ckhead”, attacks a dentist with his own drill, cusses out a local TV reporter, and burns down a police station. Checking in on Riverdale
Thursdays still belong to Shonda Rhimes but for the past 7 weeks, I’ve ventured out of Shondaland and into a mysterious, perpetually overcast town called Riverdale for an hour every Thursday. Riverdale is back with new episodes next week but to hold you over until then, I’m essentially going to yell at you to watch Riverdale if you aren’t already (but you are, right!?) and break down the highs and lows of the first 7 episodes.
