Well, I was just saying yesterday in a style post about Lady Gaga that her choices have changed the last couple of years. To be fair, this is not a meat dress. And she’s not wearing a Christmas tree with ornaments dangling from her crotch. Still… it’s not Gaga if she doesn’t show up at a luncheon, in this case the Billboard Women in Music luncheon, where she’s being honoured with the Woman of the Year Award, in a silver bra and long skirt. Full Story

X-Men: Apocalypse fails to register

The trailer for X-Men: Apocalypse is here, and it’s awful. It’s even worse than the Superhero Face Punch trailer, but where that one shot itself in the foot by revealing the entire plot of the movie, X-Men is done in by a curious emptiness. I LIKE the X-Men movies—they’re silly as hell, but they’re populated by charismatic actors playing likeable characters and they’re generally well-directed and feature great action. Full Story

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association went with Will Smith over Johnny Depp for Best Actor Drama at the Golden Globes. Normally those starf-ckers are all up in Johnny’s ass. Maybe they’re over his scarves. I’m curious though to know how much international press, like proper interviews, he did for Black Mass and whether or not that had anything to do with it. Full Story

Shanice Williams was born in 1993. I Love Your Smile came out in 1991. It’s not preposterous to suggest that that might have been where her name came from. But now, when you hear the name, Shanice Williams is going to be the first one you think of. Especially if you’ve seen The Wiz. If you missed the original live broadcast, it should be on demand and they’re replaying it through the holidays, check your local listings. Full Story

The Hollywood Reporter has released their directors roundtable, which includes Tom Hooper, Danny Boyle, David O. Russell, Ridley Scott, Alejandro González Iñárritu, and Quentin Tarantino. That’s quite a mix of people, several of whom have reputations for being, let’s call it “exacting” in their process. Full Story

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton were papped the other night in LA kissing while waiting for their car at valet after dinner. I wrote about it the other day – click here for a refresher. Couldn’t afford those photos but I can afford these ones… Gwen and Blake driving around on Thursday, he’s in the passenger seat, they’re laughing, they’re enjoying each other, and at one point he reaches over and affectionately puts his hand at the back of her head. Full Story

A couple months ago I wrote about some developments with Thor: Ragnarok, including that the big-screen Marvel villainess will debut in that movie. This is what I said back then: …empowered by their recent A-list success in casting Doctor Strange, Marvel will pursue a big name actress for Mystery Villainess—like Cate Blanchett big. Full Story
