Marion Cotillard is not on the list of Oscar presenters this year. I will miss her. Especially after seeing her at the Cesar Awards in Paris last night wearing what's basically my dream dress. This puffy silver and black dress. It's Halpern. It's amazing. Those voluminous sleeves, the airy feel through the body, short in front, mulletted in the back - I'm obsessed. Full Story

Emma Stone is Oscar's reigning Best Actress, winning last year for La La Land. She'll be back tomorrow then at the Oscars, presumably to present Best Actor. Probably to Gary Oldman? He's the favourite to win right now and there have been no rumours of a potential upset.  Here's Emma Full Story

It's Oscar weekend. It's wall to wall parties. And you know Leonardo DiCaprio. If there's a party, he'll be there.  Last night Leo was seen arriving at the WME talent party with Tobey Maguire. In his usual party uniform. Or everyday uniform. The goal for Leo at any party is to be the most casually dressed. Full Story

Dear Gossips,

It’s Oscar weekend. And these are the first Oscars since the launch of Time’s Up and Harvey Weinstein’s exorcism from Hollywood. How will that affect the event? Will it affect the event? This is the 90th anniversary of the Oscars and the Academy wants to celebrate the milestone, especially after the way the show ended last year with the envelope f-ck-up.  Read Full Intro

What Else?

If you’re around tomorrow, don’t forget I’ll be posting photos from the Spirit Awards so come visit if you want to see photos from the red carpet! I was working all morning from the Oscars red carpet where they’re still putting together the design elements. And it’s pouring rain here in LA, a miserable cold day that doesn’t matter, really, so long as by Sunday it’s warm and sunny, which, so far, it’s supposed to be. Full Story

Mary J Blige is a two-time Oscar nominee… in the same year. She is the first woman to be nominated for acting and songwriting in the same year. She made history. So no matter what happens this weekend (Allison Janney will win Best Supporting Actress), Mary J Blige’s Oscar weekend will be a big deal. Full Story

From lover to brother

What did I tell you earlier? About Gwyneth Paltrow? When I posted about G this morning and her birthday-gram for her fiancé Brad Falchuk, at the end of that article, I told you she wasn’t done. Full Story

Justin Theroux hides his hand

Lainey Posted by Lainey at March 2, 2018 20:24:12 March 2, 2018 20:24:12

Justin Theroux was papped in New York yesterday with his left hand shoved in his pocked, presumably to hide the fact that he’s not wearing a wedding ring anymore. There are some other shots of him taken by another photo agency where you can see his hand and no ring on his finger but the outfit is the same and the point is the same – he’s not wearing a ring anymore, which makes sense because he’s not married anymore. Full Story

Bruce Willis in Death Wish

Death Wish began life as a pulpy crime novel, then came a film adaptation in 1974 starring Charles Bronson. That movie borrows from the exploitation sub-genres that were popular in the 1960s and 1970s, but where exploitation cinema largely arose from marginalized communities creating their own narratives outside a system that did not welcome them, Death Wish just uses unabashed, unexamined violence to let a white guy rampage Full Story

A conversation came up at work the other day about the actresses considered to be “America’s Sweethearts.” The usual suspects were named like Sandra Bullock, Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Garner. Then, Gina Rodriguez came up. I don’t think anyone agreed with me but I consider Gina Rodriguez to be in this category of America’s Sweethearts. Full Story
