Lindsay Lohan’s completely clear, not at all drug-induced late night Instagram post. But if money means more than freedom, stay in California.   they always come back. I love you NYC 💋they always come back. I love you NYC 💋 #godblesstheworld #michaeljackson #rip miss you as my real only private friend. For you: god, for all hurts and wrongs, please let me forgive, Allah please let me be forgiven, and all forgive themselves. Please and thank you. (Someone I was with the night before several towers fell, it felt like not a curse, but more like a spell.. What we think in America is not always clear, we don't have @peta commercials / you just kill deer....with this being said, I'm a girl with a reputation mislead... Like a diamond in the rough, you, now, for 25 years have seen me on TV and screen.. So i am programmed 🔺to stand tough. Black or white - in life, rather than love we create a fight of an ideal situation of an unexceptional, yet unacceptable future that @TMZ @Eonline @HarveylevinTMZ & #harveyweinstein ..couldn't and wouldn't even care to describe any thought of the people we forget to help when a franchise film comes out and, If money means more than freedom- than stay in California. If helping others is a passion, talk to angelina jolie... If you want to be a brilliant actress, work wth Meryl Streep ...at the end of the day- republican or democrats --- BE HERE NOW @oprah and live with integrity. Or go to sleep. The most beautiful life comes cheap. Stop fighting and using artists for distractions. It's boring... 🙏 #UnitedNations Full Story

Evan Rachel Wood and Ellen Page’s plus ones

Evan Rachel Wood and Ellen Page play sisters in Into the Forest and spent the weekend in Toronto. Ellen, Evan and I are the same age. I've watched their careers closely and admire them both for speaking their mind, and standing up for women in Hollywood. Since Ellen has publicly revealed her sexuality and become an LGBTQ activist, you can see the difference it has had on her mental health. Full Story

This happened to me the last time I interviewed Tom Hiddleston for The Avengers. I don’t know how I forgot. That he’s SOOOOOOOO f-cking charming and thoughtful and smart and nice. Tom was my first interview yesterday, followed immediately by Elizabeth Olsen. As Sarah just noted in her review, I Saw The Light isn’t great. Full Story

TIFF Review: I Saw The Light

I had high hopes for the Hank Williams biopic, I Saw the Light, because Hank Williams’s life is inherently cinematic—gifted musician with a meteoric rise, tragic death, and a drama-ridden life in between—and also because Tom Hiddleston plays Williams. Hiddleston is a brilliant mimic and a good actor, a combination that makes him ideal for casting in biopics. Full Story

It was pouring on Saturday night for the Legend premiere at TIFF. And the fans, they stood out there in the rain, waiting patiently for Tom Hardy. Meanwhile, I was under the red carpet awning, waiting impatiently for an interview. It didn’t happen. The film was supposed to start at 9:30pm. Full Story

TIFF Review: About Ray

I feel bad sh*tting on About Ray, but…I’m going to sh*t on it—it’s not very good. Starring Elle Fanning as transgender teen Ray and directed by Gaby Dellal (Looking), About Ray is more about everyone else talking about Ray than Ray himself. It’s a standard wacky family coming of age story, except the quirk is that Ray is transitioning from female to male, which sends his flighty mom into a panic as he needs both parents signatures before beginning the medical process of transitioning, and they haven’t seen or heard from Ray’s dad in a decade because of something his mother did. Full Story

Jake Gyllenhaal opened TIFF on Thursday. On Friday he was in New York participating in the Cantor Fitzgerald annual charity day. Last night however he was back in Toronto, hanging out at the Shangri-La lobby with his brother-in-law, Peter Sarsgaard, and Joel Edgerton who are here for Black Mass. Then Dakota Johnson came to join them. Full Story

Josh Brolin snuck into the premiere of The Danish Girl on Saturday night. This is unusual for a star at a film festival to do, to make time in their busy interview and party schedule to check out another movie. But when asked about it the next day by etalk host Ben Mulroney, Josh said, "I'm a fan, man!" and explained that he had a "chemical need" to see the movie as soon as possible. Full Story

Johnny’s late night meeting

Lainey Posted by Lainey at September 14, 2015 13:37:53 September 14, 2015 13:37:53

Black Mass premieres at TIFF tonight. On Saturday though, Johnny Depp showed up at The Danish Girl gala to support Amber Heard. These photos? Trust me, it’s worse in person. And it’s even worse than that at 2am. Saturday was my friend Traci’s birthday. I worked until around 10pm and we went out for dinner. Full Story

The last time I outright enjoyed a Ridley Scott movie, no reservations, no qualifications or conditions, was American Gangster in 2007. Since then he’s given us Grimdark Robin Hood, the space-magic bullsh*t of Prometheus, and the super messy but ambitious The Counselor, plus some other stuff no one cares about (AHEM EXODUS). Full Story

Gwyneth and Jennifer Garner

My favourite photo from the weekend… Gwyneth Paltrow and Jennifer Garner, bonded by Ben Affleck, and the inevitable disappointment that results from loving Ben Affleck, were both at the Think It Up event on Friday in LA. Does this picture happen if we never met Chrissy O? Does it happen if Jen and Ben are still together? It hasn’t happened since 2004. Full Story
