Jurassic World opens this weekend. There is no doubt it’ll win the box office, which would be Chris Pratt’s third #1 after The Lego Movie and Guardians Of The Galaxy. The only question is: how big? Some are saying that domestically Jurassic World will gross up to $125 million. That’s on top of an estimated $250-300 million internationally. Full Story

Dear Gossips,

Today is Johnny Depp’s 52nd birthday. Do you think he thinks about the number? Conveniently a new poster for his upcoming film, in which he plays Whitey Bulger, has been released. Meanwhile he continues to work on Pirates 5 in Australia, monitored by drones. TMZ has the video. Not sure who sent the drone over but I also happened to read an article this morning about how “dronies” are replacing selfies.

Let’s say you’re out for a bike ride. Or a date. And you have a drone. The drone will follow you, shooting the entire time. It’s the new extension of vanity. Because now you can be the star in your own film. This is your own movie montage. Drones might be especially advantageous for Twi-Hards. Remember those Ian Somerhalder fans who were scolded by him for waiting outside his hotel on what he called “my day”? (Click here for a refresher.) Now they can just drone him down the street from the comfort of the coffee shop a block away. Click here to see Johnny Depp getting droned.

Yours in gossip,

Lainey

Miley’s Nightmare

A new Miley Cyrus song hit the internet this week. There’s no information about whether or not it’ll be on a new album or if Nightmare was supposed to be on Bangerz but never made it. Given that it’s a strong single though, I have a hard time believing it would have been discarded. Full Story

Gwyneth Paltrow hosted a party for Windsor Smith yesterday in LA. It looks like there were a lot of upper classy people there. Click here to see more guest photos. Almost no front page names other than G but you can tell this is a scene where a certain social hierarchy is observed. Full Story

Katy Perry has reportedly registered a song called 1984. That’s when she was born. But, not surprisingly, and understandably, everyone’s wondering whether or not it’s a slap-back to Taylor Swift’s Bad Blood off her smash hit album 1989. Come on. This is not a reach. We’ve been talking about how they hate each other for months. Full Story

Does everyone like Aziz Ansari as much as I do? What I like about him is that he’s a modern comic. Of course Louis C.K. and Seinfeld and Chris Rock are considered comedy gods but they are also from a generation that became famous before the internet existed. Sometimes the “you crazy kids get off my lawn” sensibility of the sacred cows gets a little tired. Full Story
