David Bowie
David Bowie’s birthday was on Friday which is also when he released his final album, Blackstar. But isn’t that the most elegant exit? A video for the song Lazarus is now available with the opening lyrics, “Look up here, I’m in heaven”. According to those close to him, this is how he planned it for his fans, for the world, how he wanted to say goodbye. Full Story
Tom Hiddleston & Elizabeth Olsen 2016 update
Mike Windle /Getty Images for AMC
Tom Hiddleston was in Pasadena on the weekend for the Winter TCA to promote The Night Manager. The series begins on AMC and the BBC in April. He looks really good in that leather jacket. Late last year, the tabloids reported that Tom and Elizabeth Olsen had broken up because…f-ck… I don’t know, it was a tabloid report and it wasn’t true anyway so do we need to go into why? Tom started shooting Kong: Skull Island in Hawaii in the fall. Full Story
Dear Gossips,
On the one hand, at the 2016 Golden Globes last night, it was all about The Revenant. These were the key words to the film: struggle, survival, the human spirit, and I think Leo threw “trust” in there too. Team Revenant was struggling, surviving, trusting, and embracing the human spirit. Read Full Intro

Oscar Isaac: Globes Best of Everything + bonus Pedro!

I see you, you know. I see you’ve fully embraced Oscar Isaac into your life, talking about him with your friends like he’s been yours all along…FOR THE LAST MONTH. I see you turning him into a CumberGosling. You can deny it but I see you because I SAW HIM FIRST. And I have no f-cks to give about how annoying that’s becoming because when he was announced last night… …and then WON last night for his outstanding work in Show Me A Hero, and then after winked at Mark Ruffalo (Sweet God SWEET GODDDDD)… …Twitter jizzed all over itself. Katy Perry: Globes Worst Dressed (Lainey)

There are some who don’t think this dress is all that bad. That it’s the hair that’s the problem. F-ck that. The dress doesn’t get a pass, not at this stop. I’ll never, ever condone a taffeta, not even when it’s cut close to the body. Especially not in 2016. You know what comes to mind when you think of “pink taffeta”? Kate Hudson: Globes Worst Dressed (Duana)

I struggled with choosing Kate Hudson for Worst Dressed. Not because the dress isn’t bad, of course – the dress is very bad. But usually when someone shows up in a dress like this, it’s kind of cheating to call them ‘worst dressed’. A Bai Ling or a Phoebe Price shows up to these things for the purposes of being worst dressed, which is not what’s happening here. Full Story
Brie Larson: Globes Best Dressed (Duana)

Again, this surprises even me. This dress is not my style. I don’t mind risks and cut-outs in theory, but in practice they often seem too extreme or pointed or something. That, combined with the knitted feeling of the dress (it wasn’t actually, they were sequins applied in a knit-pattern) threatened to make it feel too trendy or too casual or something. Full Story
Jennifer Lopez: Globes Best Dressed (Lainey)

Last year in JLO was all about cut-outs, or sheer, all kinds of body baring, skin, skin, skin. Like Kate Hudson. And, well, I’m not sure anyone wants that association. Because it was getting tired. JLO is not an idiot about her look, her aesthetic. You were expecting something shiny, maybe some side tits, and half her ass. Full Story
The Revenant: Globes winner, and apparently an issues movie
Handout/ Kevin Winter/ Steve Granitz/ Mark Davis/ Getty Images
When Leonardo DiCaprio won his Golden Globe for Best Actor for The Revenant, he said that it’s time we take back the land for the First Nations, or something. I didn’t quite follow his point and also, the minute he invoked indigenous issues, I heard the roar of an oncoming train. Why? Because I knew what that meant. Full Story
Viola Davis: Globes Unpopular Opinion
John Shearer/ George Pimentel/ Jason Merritt/ Handout/ Getty Images
This Viola Davis dress is intrinsically pretty. When I look at it in a still picture, and she’s beaming, it takes my breath away, actually. I get all the comparisons to a starry night. But here’s the unpopular opinion – I didn’t like it as much as some people did, by a wide margin. Full Story
