There’s a Hilary Duff song that I’ll never turn off if it comes on the radio: Come Clean. In fact, I’ll screech it in the car… LET THE RAIN FALL DOWN… What I’m saying is that I’m not all that down with Hilary Duff’s books, I’m definitely not opposed to Hilary Duff’s music. Full Story

Amal Alamuddin and George Clooney had dinner at a restaurant in Lake Como recently. Body language! Photo Assumption! It’s the game way to play to gain insight based only on the highly unreliable art of reading pictures. You ready? Let’s first go back in the archives and take a look at their engagement confirmation photos here Full Story
MGM had previously announced their intention to remake Ben-Hur, the classic Charlton Heston chariot race epic, but nothing about the project inspired confidence. They’ve put Timur Bekmambetov, director of such fine films as Wanted and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, in charge and they’ve already dated it for a February 2016 release. Full Story

Hot Prince Harry spoke today at an Invictus Games announcement for the British Armed Forces team in London. At one point, the wind took his speech away, and he’d already been bracing for the teasing that would result from his speech-giving. Video of his appearance is below. For me though, the highlight of the day is Harry with the dog. Full Story
After Johnny Depp’s Mortdecai got kicked to February 2015, it was clear that it was not going to be a good movie. But just how not-good it will be was a mystery, at least until yesterday when the first trailer was released. We now have some idea of how not-good Mortdecai will be and the answer is “very, very, VERY not-good”. Full Story
Jackie Chan was in London yesterday promoting his film Chinese Zodiac. Look at him. I have been looking at him, watching him, since I was probably 2 years old. I’m 40 now. HE’S EXACTLY THE SAME. Ginseng > Botox. Maybe some snake blood too. He only takes one day off a year. Full Story
Nishaat Sheraly came to The Social in May with her girlfriends. She was feeling good. They enjoyed a great afternoon. And well deserved. Because the last few years have been a challenge. In 2011, Nishaat was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, undergoing four rounds of aggressive chemotherapy. She’s been on the international bone marrow database ever since though no match has been found. Full Story
Pitch Perfect, which was on my list of Top 10 movies of 2012 was on last night. Jacek’s never seen it. So we watched together after I promised that even though it follows a formula, it’s smart and funny and, well, everything else on television was all kinds of sh-tty. Sometimes you just need a sing-along.
I have heard what the talkers were talking, the talk of the beginning and the end;
But I do not talk of the beginning or the end.
There was never any more inception than there is now,
Nor any more youth or age than there is now;
And will never be any more perfection than there is now,
Nor any more heaven or hell than there is now.

There’s a move that Jude Law makes at the end of The Holiday, and the only way I can describe it is with the word “shimmy”, which is a word I hate, but that’s what he does, he “shimmies” up to Cameron Diaz, and …it kinda works. It helps that he’s wearing a great suit and he’s lit beautifully and he’s just so f-cking handsome, but mostly it’s the way he’s moving his body. Full Story
For those of you who’ve been asking whether or not Jacek liked Pitch Perfect – like I said, I have to convince him to watch it. When it ended, he loved it. He was all over the Elizabeth Banks/John Michael Higgins colour commentary. He laughed at all of Rebel Wilson’s jokes. He agreed that it was a clever interpretation of the Formula. Full Story
