While it’s unclear if Nina Dobrev knew about Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed making out at the Entertainment Weekly party, she was definitely there, and changed into flip-flops when she left… With Ben McKenzie. They were hugging each other at one point, in clear view of the paps. Full Story

Duana’s the name expert. And she’s always on about how she prefers that siblings be named consistently. Like if you’re going to call your son Brody, maybe a classic Esther for your daughter isn’t a great fit. Something like that. I’m sure she has a better example. This post is not about naming siblings. Full Story

Superhero Face Punch looks dumb

Warner Brothers did a good job of keeping the appearance of Zack Snyder and comics’ Holy Trinity (Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman) a secret in the run up to their panel on Saturday morning in Hall H. When Snyder took the stage and introduced his trio of stars, it felt like a legit surprise, and made for a great Hall H moment—the first time the Trinity has appeared together. Full Story

Mad Max is hotter than puppies

Sarah has written at length about Comic-Con strategy – how often false hype can be generated out of San Diego (Sucker Punch) that ultimately leads to disappointment. But Comic-Con can also be a legitimate momentum build, especially for projects that seemed worrisome, projects that may have been burdened by the weight of expectation. Full Story

Masters of Sex Season 2 Episode 3 recap An unusual episode. None of our usual players (though possibly a starmaking turn for Elliot, you know?) and just one main location. Part of the glory of making a show that is not a procedural is that you can experiment with formats and types of shows and stretch the limits of what your show is. Full Story

Wonder Woman’s new look

Sarah Posted by Sarah at July 28, 2014 13:42:56 July 28, 2014 13:42:56

After having the new costume for Wonder Woman teased last month, at Comic-Con on Saturday Zack Snyder unveiled the first look for his cinematic version of the character, and it’s not bad. It’s still pretty T&A for a character who is supposed to be a warrior first and foremost, but let’s be real—it could have been much worse. Full Story

Her only challenge

She’s a girl who gets what she wants, sometimes much to our surprise, especially when it comes to romance. But you can’t game your way to a baby. And right now, she really, really wants a baby. She’s young. She’s healthy. She’s resourceful. In her mind, it should have happened by now. Full Story

Linda! Happy 30th Birthday! Alexandra told me that for you two over in Ireland, Eminem is golden daylight. It’s been ages since he’s given us some new pictures. But he and Rihanna kick off their mini-tour soon. I promise I’ll post as many photos as I can. And Linda? Being single in your 30s is the way to do it. Full Story

Dear Gossips,

I really, really want to see Boyhood this weekend. Duana and Lara went the other night and yesterday sent an email to a few of our friends with the title “ALERT”:

“Boyhood made me love Ethan Hawke again. Use at your own risk.”

That is a risk. Because I’d been going off Troy Dyer for a while. And then… Before Midnight. Also, there was a Before Sunrise/Sunset/Midnight marathon on TV recently. That didn’t help either.

Experiment: Can Richard Linklater’s Ethan Hawke stand up after a viewing of Billy Idol’s Ethan Hawke? This is what I’ll do as soon as I leave the theatre after Boyhood. Pull up a shot of Billy Ethan Hawke on my phone as a fickle test.

Trying to decide whether or not I should blind you again today and make it a 3-blind week. It’s Friday and so many people are taking off early. Hold to next week or do now? Tell me.

Have a great weekend!

Yours in gossip,

Lainey
