Prince Harry and Cressida Bonas went out for dinner last night in London after he attended a memorial service for Nelson Mandela. They were with her brother-in-law Sam Branson. They went to The Ivy. F-ck, why couldn’t I have been at The Ivy last night with Hot Harry and his soon-to-be-fiancee instead of on a red-eye with Team Rob Ford? Anyway, Cressida is living with Harry now at Kensington Palace. Full Story

The Walking Dead Season 4 Episode 12 recap Notes from last week’s episode. Apparently there was some discussion about the guy who saw Rick while he was under the bed. I thought he was dead, but then on The Talking Dead Andrew Lincoln said otherwise. I don’t watch The Talking Dead, and stuff like that ought to be clear in-episode, but we’ll go with that guy still being alive, and since the man spotted on the porch as Rick et al fled is a recognizable actor, let’s also assume that the rape-happy biker gang will be back. Full Story

FLARE

Just over a month to go before the premiere of Game Of Thrones Season 4. So here’s the Khaleesi, aka Emilia Clarke, on the cover of the new issue of FLARE. It’s spring. It’s pink. And she is soooo lovely. I love this outfit on her. It’s a two-piece Burberry Prorsum and the shoes are Prorsum too. Full Story

Dear Gossips,

How f-cking cute is Steve McQueen? The jumping up and down? It was indeed a director/film split between Gravity and 12 Years A Slave with Alfonso Cuaron taking Best Director and the right film being immortalised. Because, as I suggested in one of our production meetings this week, do you get the sense that Gravity is the Avatar of 2013? How will we talk about Gravity in 50 years? Can you say that we’ll talk about it in the same way we talk about 12 Years A Slave? McQueen never seemed like he wanted to win the director prize anyway.  Read Full Intro

It’s been a drought for over a year. So this weekend they made up for it. I don’t want to follow the chronological timeline for the Spirit Awards and then the Oscars. Let’s start with what happened on Sunday when they arrived on the carpet. As always, he insisted on getting out and opening the car door for her, declining the offer from the Academy staff who were waiting to greet celebrities. Full Story

Before you start yelling, please click here to remember. Remember what Charlize Theron wore to the Oscars last year when she was named Best Dressed on this blog. I want you to remember this for comparison. Because when we consider the Worst Dressed at the Oscars, it’s always about positioning and potential. Full Story

This is gonna hurt me more than it hurts you. Because I love Anna Kendrick, and she is already awesome and poised on the tip of so much more: Pitch Perfect 2. Boom. Into The Woods. Boom. The Last Five Years – it’s going to be huge. There is every reason to believe Anna Kendrick is going to be a serious contender in at least the musical if not acting categories next year – so she has 364 days to get it going. Full Story

I know that’s saying a lot, especially given Lupita Nyong’o’s acceptance and how oft-repeated that phrase is going to be. But the speech was fresh and original from the second sentence: “You’re too old to be standing” and proceeds from there. She says the honour is exacerbated given that it comes from Daniel Day Lewis, then humbly admits that the award is subjective. Full Story

Like I said at the top of the blog today – no dress punched me in the face with the real and true “best” at this year’s Oscars. Everything felt so … safe. So… subdued. Maybe it was the weather. Maybe it was a general lack of imagination. I mean, Amy Adams and Sandra Bullock were practically wearing the same thing. Full Story
