Reese Witherspoon’s baby brain
A smiling Reese Witherspoon faced photographers at LAX yesterday. TMZ says she’s heading back to Atlanta where she’d been working on a film and, of course, where she was arrested last week for DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM-ing a cop after her husband, Jim Toth, was pulled over for potentially harming innocent people while operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol -- nearly double the legal limit.
Here’s a magazine interview that Reese gave well before the incident that she may hope will offer some insight into her behaviour that night. Insight first, then sympathy, right? Reese tells RED that:
“Ever since I had (Tennessee), I can’t remember anything. Serious, this child stole my brain.”
I suppose it’s something all mothers can relate to? God, I’m just so tired with this baby. Looking after him, and caring for him, and devoting myself entirely to him, is draining, I can’t process any rational thought. Mom, me, I am mom, me, I am mother, me, Mother, everything, me.
Of course, Reese. You are forgiven.
I had several interesting conversations this weekend with people who work closely with celebrities. And they all argued that other famous people -- though they’d never admit it publicly -- -- would totally do the same. Especially when it’s positioned as protection for a spouse: If your husband were in trouble, wouldn’t you use anything at your disposal, including your fame and influence, to help him out of a bad spot? No one in Hollywood is holding it against her, but it’s not like you were doubting that.
