Rosamund Pike, Gone Girl
Someone recently suggested Rosamund Pike for a Career Prospectus. Don’t think she needs one anymore, do you? According to The Hollywood Reporter, she’s been offered the role of Amy Dunne in the film adaptation of Gone Girl to be directed by David Fincher and also starring Ben Affleck. As previously mentioned, my first choice was Jennifer Garner, because obviously, but Pike works too. She works very well. Pike was reportedly chosen over Charlize Theron, Emily Blunt, Natalie Portman, Abbie Cornish, and Olivia Wilde. That’s a solid list. That’s a list that sounds a lot stronger than whatever is they have to work with over at Fifty Shades Of Grey.
What’s great about Pike is that she can be the sweet angel but you can also believe there’s an ice cold c-nt who lives inside. It’s a dream role for an actress. And physically she and Affleck make a handsome couple, as you can see here in these ads for Peek & Cloppenburg from a couple of years ago.
Very interested to see who ends up rounding out the cast. Neil Patrick Harris and Tyler Perry are said to be in talks, but what’ll be most interesting – to me, at least – are Nick’s sister Margo, the female cop investigating Amy’s disappearance, and the student with whom Nick has an affair. Would Blake Lively be too much to hope for?
