The director lifts boxes
Of course he does, when he’s Ryan Gosling.
Ryan is directing his first film called How To Catch A Monster. Here he is lifting sh-t on set in Detroit the other day. I dunno, I thought it might make you swoony.
Last week in this article about Gosling I wrote about how precious he can be when he’s acting and wondered how much more precious he could get when he’s directing. Then I got shouted at because why shouldn’t he ask “what’s my motivation”? Isn’t that just dedication to his job?
But for a simple shot of him walking across a room that requires no close-up, it might be a little extra, non?
I guess it depends on who he’s working with. Nicholas Winding Refn and Derek Cianfrance, OK. But salt’n’pepper haired Chairman of Hollywood certainly doesn’t have the patience for it.
