THANK YOU so much for coming to the 9th Annual SMUT Soiree – a sold out, 1000+ attendee night in spite of the rain! Some of you have attended the event for 6, 7, 8 years. Some of you were gossip virgins. All of you were wonderful. A few of you need to stop caring about Kanye West’s wife.

But seriously, your support is everything. Your crusade for gossip is everything. Your desire for more gossip is everything. GOSSIP Always, ok? And please know how much Teri Hart and I appreciated your enthusiasm and your questions…in the heat and the wet. But even the wet couldn’t take away from your style and I don’t blame you – there was a $1000 shopping spree on the line.

VOTE for the best look of the night in our SMUT Style Award contest at Flare.com – click here! The winner has a grand to spend at H&M, plus all kinds of product from Rimmel London, and a 1 year subscription to FLARE.

Most importantly though: bragging rights!

No one goes home empty-handed from SMUT – and also, maybe, um, a little buzzed. As always, we couldn’t do it without the support of our sponsors.

Just like FLARE's August cover girl Rita Ora, ‎Rimmel London took care of the nail situation.

Skinny Cow took care of the sweets situation – and graciously obliged my ma, the Squawking Chicken, who basically shoveled several pounds worth of treats into her bag before leaving.

TreSemme was there for hair at their travel bar– and we ALL needed it with the humidity. Everyone who stopped by took home carry-on-approved travel products, an essential for summer holidays.

And…the night was soft and misty because Blow Vapor gifted all gossips with nicotine-free e-cigs. To keep your patio season nicotine-free, Blow Vapor is offering a promotion on all products purchased online. Just type in promo code SMUT2014 and receive 50% off your next purchase.

For me, it’s not a party unless there’s Grey Goose – in all variations: original, La Poire, L’Orange, and Cherry Noir. Grey Goose developed a special cocktail just for SMUT: The Lainey Signature!

1.5 ounces Grey Goose La Poire
0.5 ounce fresh squeezed lemon juice
0.5 ounce Elderflower Liqueur topped with white cranberry juice in a highball glass filled with ice.

Garnish with half a rosemary sprig and 1 teaspoon of blueberries! For more spectacular cocktails visit Grey Goose here.

For the designated driver, we provided "THE GOSSIP‎" made with Silk Vanilla Almond and blended with mint, chocolate chips, raspberries and finished with toasted almonds. Make this for breakfast or add a little rum and serve it at your next cocktail party. In a blender, add 1 cup ice, ½ cup Silk Vanilla Almond, 5 fresh mint leaves, 1/2 Tbsp chocolate chips, 1/2 cup fresh or frozen raspberries, ½ oz. simple syrup. Blend and pour into a cup and sprinkle with ½ tsp. crushed toasted almonds. Silk has even more smoothie ideas here.

Our other non-alcoholic option was ‎vitaminwater - because I wrote the labels! Two new zero-calorie flavours were passed around all night to cool things down: rise & squeezed. To see the complete catalogue of vitaminwater flavours, please click here.

Car or cash? If you’re in with George Clooney, like the inner circle, he shows his appreciation with a lot of it. We talked about how those boys have been rewarded handsomely for their loyalty. I unfortunately can’t give you several bricks of money but …how about a ride?  Thanks to car2go there is now an easy way to get around Toronto with one-way car sharing. Click here and use the promo code: SMUT0030 for a free membership and 30 minutes of car2go drive time!

Our restrooms and gift bags were stocked with Excel gum. Helpful for someone like Bradley Cooper if he’s ever looking to pick up in the desert.

And…food! Colette Grand Café’s Food Truck and bicyclette-distributed modern French fare. Colette Grand Cafe will also be opening a Parisian-inspired eatery this summer 2014. Click here to find out where.

You know who loves a hot dog? Sasha. She’s already hosted a hot dog party this summer. You know who could use a hot dog? Jake Gyllenhaal. No, no, not in that way. NOT in the – is he? way. How many times do I have to tell you he’s not? But awesome food makes people happy. And, well, sometimes Jakey’s not happy. Like severely not happy. So a hot dog might help with that sad smut. At SMUT, premium hot dogs were provided by the Let's Be Frank food truck. They created a custom dog just for me dressed with champagne cream sauce, lobster, caviar and chives. Look, if someone names a sausage after you, you have to put it in your mouth. I had 5 wieners that night. I think everyone had a wiener that night. They stayed late and served all gossips, sometimes twice. Hit up Let’s Be Frank here on Twitter and see the menu here.

Photos to follow. Lots and lots of them!

See you next year!
