Hi Sasha, I'm 32 years old and I'm sickened by my father's behavior. Here's the story, my parents got divorced when I was 6 years old, he then went on to marry a crazy bitch who made my life a living hell (she was verbally violent and she decided that I couldn't go back to her house because I had a bad influence on my father), he had two kids with this woman and stayed 10 years with her. Full Article

Sasha Answers: My Deadbeat Brother

Sasha Posted by Sasha at July 23, 2012 17:49:00 July 23, 2012 17:49:00

Hi Sasha.  I have a problem that absolutely no one seems to know how to solve. My younger brother is 33 and still living at home. My Mum is in her 70s and was widowed a few years ago. She lives in a nice (but small) house and is quite conservative and set in her ways. My brother generally means well, but he is sporadically unemployed, always broke and binge drinks (regularly does coke) and then staggers home at all hours. Full Article

Sasha Answers: I Dull My Shine Around Men

Sasha Posted by Sasha at July 23, 2012 17:44:32 July 23, 2012 17:44:32

Hi Sasha, Back in March, I met a gorgeous, smart and funny boy at a house warming party. We went back on the first night which is supposed to be a mistake but we then went on a lot of dates and carried on seeing each other. We never had the conversation because as far as I was concerned, we didn't need to. Full Article

Sasha Answers: Pull up your big girl drawers

Sasha Posted by Sasha at July 10, 2012 19:10:36 July 10, 2012 19:10:36

I am in my early twenties and I come from a culturally conservative family. My parents - who have been married since their early twenties - expect me to stay at home until I get married, too. This isn't a surprise to me, after all I knew this was coming. It was just that whenever we had the marriage conversation the idea of getting married or ever needing to have the argument of future living situations seemed so far away. Full Article

So here's the story.  I was engaged to J last year.  We were together for just over 2 years....long story short- he was extremely emotionally and verbally abusive. I didn't really realize it until I was in deep.  We had a house together- and were on our way down the aisle.  Luckily, there came a breaking point and I managed to get out. Full Article

Sasha Answers: My pregnant BFF still smokes

Sasha Posted by Sasha at July 9, 2012 18:22:09 July 9, 2012 18:22:09

Hi Sasha, My best friend is 10 weeks pregnant.  She was a heavy drinker and smoker, stopped drinking when she found out she was pregnant, but she's still smoking.  She's cut down to "a few per day" from a pack a day, but this is really bothering me.  She's never smoked in front of me, I think because she knows my feelings and she's embarrassed. Full Article

Here’s the backstory and deets so you can assess and advise: my husband met my stepdaughter’s mom in rehab (it was LA in the late eighties) and had a volatile on-and-off relationship with her for several years until this child was born (at 29 weeks, weighing 3 lbs 3 oz). He got sober as a result of the pregnancy, embracing fatherhood fully. Full Article

Sasha Answers: My sister-in-law is a bad parent

Sasha Posted by Sasha at June 26, 2012 16:50:19 June 26, 2012 16:50:19

Dear Sasha, I'm a mom to an 11 month old and my husband and I have a wonderful marriage. Our only problem is his sister and her parenting. She has two girls ages 2 and 5 and they are allowed to do anything they want with no rules, limitations or discipline. For example the older child recently cut her sister's hair and when asked about it she lied and said it wasn't her. Full Article

Sasha Answers: gifts I hate from my mother-in-law

Sasha Posted by Sasha at June 25, 2012 17:59:06 June 25, 2012 17:59:06

Hi Sasha! For a little over 10 years now, my mother in law has been giving me Vera Bradley purses and accessories as gifts. I absolutely hate Vera Bradley. I understand that some people are really into it but it's just not my style and never has been. When she first started buying the purses for me I tried to carry them around a few times so she didn't get her feelings hurt, then I would turn around and sell them on ebay and make a nice profit. Full Article
