September 9, 2015 – Smutty Shout-Outs
In January 2010 newlyweds Lorna & John Levac found out they were expecting their first baby. In the second trimester during a routine 20 week ultrasound doctors discovered the fetus was showing major developmental issues. They were referred to Mount Sinai Hospital’s high risk pregnancy team. Doctors at Mount Sinai explained that the fetus’s spine was not connected to the brain. It was only a matter of time before the baby would pass away and she would have to deliver. During delivery Lorna’s body went into shock and she was rushed to ICU. Thanks to the wonderful team at Mount Sinai, Lorna recovered and was able to conceive again. She and John are now the proud parents of a gorgeous boy. The Levacs are grateful for the exceptional care they received at the hospital and want to give back. Four years ago they organized the first annual fund raising event The Levac Attack. It is now celebrating its 6th year on September 26th, 2015. To donate or participate in the event please click here.
