My question starts with the fact that Ms. Anderson states that a woman should never lift more than a three pound weight; otherwise she'll end up looking "bulky." Hi Lainey, What is KD?  I’m assuming it’s a Canadian food or drink that is not healthy but probably delicious and addicting? I’m on the go, all the time -- from work, to my workouts, to running errands, to meeting friends for dinner and a glass of wine after a long day. I leave my house at 5:30am and normally I am not walking through my door until the sun is setting. Needless to say I live out of my car and, more importantly, my gym bag. Full Article

Fear of failing is a common theme in many of the emails that I receive, countless emails from women who are afraid to join a gym because they do not know how to use equipment, or women who are afraid to try a class because they are fearful they will not know what to do, or women who are afraid to join a running club because they think they are too slow and will not be able to keep up. Full Article

I need some guidance here Hayley. I’m 26, 5’9, and weigh 180 lbs. I’ve gained 40 lbs since graduating college. I juggle a full time job with grad school classes at night. It’s exhausting, especially compared with my life in college. In college, there was a lot of free time, and an enormous gym that stayed open until 11pm (I’m NOT a morning person). Full Article

It is spring cleaning and I am in the process of purging my kitchen. In the process I have learned two things – canned food does expire (I had cans that expired in 2010!) and I have a completely empty pantry. This means if I pick up a recipe book I have to go out and purchase every single ingredient the recipe calls for which makes for an expensive meal. Full Article

I have long, thick hair and I have always battled with it when I am exercising.  Besides the fact that I have to wash and style it after a workout (which takes forever) I have always fought with how to tie it back when I am running.  I hate the feeling of my hair on my back, so a low pony tail is out of the question. Full Article

I never thought I would be one to use a fitness app on my phone to track my eating but in the fall of 2012 I was introduced to MyFitnessPal and in 10 weeks I dropped 15 pounds that had been gained over the summer.  Here is why I think a system like this works. The number one reason is this is not a diet. Full Article
