Hayley, I have been training for a first marathon with a goal to finish in under 4:45-5:00. I have been following a program with a local running group, running about 3 times a week, although sometimes less. I have only a few weeks to go to my race. I have managed to complete the peak long distance run and almost every other long slow distance run, even though I haven't been 100% consistent and never ran more than 3 times a week. Full Article

Hi Hayley, I am desperate, and I need some fitness advice. I had a baby 4months ago, and while I lost the pregnancy weight (almost all of it), my clothes (mostly pants and skirt) don't fit anymore. I put about 12kg during pregnancy and now I have lost almost all of them (still 2kg to go) with a Balanced diet and breastfeeding (no sports for me so far). Full Article

I have a challenge for you. Go home today, open your fridge, grab every single bottle of salad dressing you own, then walk to the recycling bin and leave them there (bottles washed out of course!). This is one way to clean up your eating and an easy way to get rid of unnecessary chemicals from your diet. Full Article

Hi Hayley, Over the past three years or so, I've gained about 20lbs. Blame it on finally NOT being pregnant and eating too much, drinking too much, and generally being too merry/lazy. Six weeks ago I decided to finally buckle down. Exercising for 20 minutes every day (alternating strength and high intensity cardio) and adding in an extra 15-20k of bike riding throughout the week. Full Article

Hi Hayley, I am the definition of someone who wants to all delicious things but still look like a bombshell - I hate exercise (I am trying) and try to eat healthy but still want to enjoy my favourite foods. Hi Hayley, I know it shouldn't have taken death to make me open my eyes but that's how it happened and made everything in my life shift focus. A forty-year-old uncle of mine had a stroke and I couldn't believe it, he seemed so young. His BMI was definitely lower than mine. I went to my doctor and he told me that I can do any exercise I can handle and that I'm healthy as I can be for my weight (which isn't at all healthy). Full Article

Hi Hayley! I'll keep it short: squats or lunges? (or both?) Thanks P   ___ BOTH! In my opinion you can never do enough lunges or squats. Adding in deadlifts and step-ups also won’t hurt. Our legs are composed of lots and lots of muscles (which I just spent 12 hours this past weekend studying) and all have specific jobs. Full Article

The sins of summer. You all know what I am talking about when I say this, right? Glasses of wine on patios, cocktails on docks, barbeques on boats, and bonfires on beaches all cause us to wonder why our fall wardrobe is just a little snug come autumn. Hi Hayley.  You've finally made me admit it - the sugar is the reason I have that little bit extra around the middle and thighs. I work out often, I have a healthy lifestyle and I'm happy with my body most days. I eat well, lots of vegetables, nothing fried or too terrible for me.  But I'm not as thin as I could be, and I know that the sugar is to blame. Full Article
