Obstacle races are becoming the big thing right now and I have to say that I am a fan of that! They are events that anyone can participate in and you can make them as serious as you like. Hi Hayley, I recently ran the BMO half-marathon here in Vancouver and now I'm gearing up for the Lululemon Seawheeze in August. What's the best way to train between now and then? Do I scale back my long runs and ramp them up slowly like I would if I were starting from scratch, or keep running long distances and work on upping my pace? For reference, I've run two half-marathons ever: one last year with a time of 1:51 and the one this past weekend with a time of 1:42. Full Article

Hi Hayley, I have a quick question for a sunscreen recommendation. I am a long-time runner who recently moved to Florida from Montreal. In Canada, I had typically exercised in the early evening, but lately this hasn't been possible and I've been running around 3 or 4 in the afternoon, sometimes earlier. Full Article

I love wine and I love to run so when one of my close friends suggested we do the Half Corked Marathon that runs through Oliver Osooyos Wine Country I said yes without hesitation. I knew I had made the right decision when I saw the route for the race as it read more like a wine menu at my favourite restaurant than a race map. Full Article

Hi Hayley, I'm a cliché.  I'm getting married in about a year and I want to get in tip top shape. I'm already in decent/good shape.  I have a healthy BMI and I workout about 4 times a week.  I do yoga once a week and about 30 minutes of cardio with some pushups and abs the other 3 days. Full Article

Hayley, I am stuck! 3 years ago I lost about 60 pounds with diet and exercise, which is great and I feel so much better. However, I still need to lose another 50 to reach my goal. I am 5'1" and around 185, with a heavy frame and family history leaning strongly towards diabetes. My problem is that I am out of options for what to further change or do to get to that goal. Full Article

Hi Hayley! I'm 25, 5'6 and ~145 lbs. I've lost about 60 lbs in 4 years, and my goal weight has always been ~130 lbs. Now that it's summertime I'm gearing up to take my fitness more seriously. Hayley, I am 33 and I gained a lot of weight in the last years. I decided to address this issue at the beginning of the year. I cut alcohol and started to eat well. I eat between 1300 to 1500 calories of healthy food per day. And I train at the gym: 5-6 times a week, generally a circuit with 45 minutes of cardio (elliptical, running or biking) and lifting weight. Full Article

Hi Hayley, I was wondering if you could recommended a protein powder. I do spin class 3x/week and TRX 2x/week and I don't get to eat anything until I'm at work which is at least 1hr after working out. I'd like to drink a protein shake right after my workouts but I'm lost when it comes to choosing a powder. Full Article
