Hi Hayley, I had a baby almost 6 months ago and I’m finally ready to get back into shape.  I ended up gaining quite a bit during pregnancy (my baby was almost 11 pounds at birth), and I have a closet full of clothes that I’m dying to wear.  I have about 20-30 minutes per day when I’m not exhausted or running around to work out. Full Article

Last year I wrote about this amazing t-shirt bra the changed my life. It was the perfect bra for those of us who are small busted but still very broad and can never find a bra that fits properly. Most bras tend to be too constricting around the rib cage or they leave our little boobs bouncing and lacking any support. Full Article

Hi Hayley, Last year I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's hypothyroidism. What followed was a year focused on getting the right medication levels and dealing with the idea that my body is attacking itself. As part of the medication, I've been gaining weight much more easily and it's a heck of a lot harder to lose. Full Article

Hi Hayley I started running this past spring and wouldn’t you know it, it’s much more enjoyable outdoors than being stuck on a treadmill. My question for you is how do I transition from a wonderful outdoor summer running experience to a brutally cold (Edmonton) winter one? As you may know our winters can last a few months longer than the rest of the country and in the past we’ve had month long cold snaps of -30 (though I’m keeping my fingers crossed we won’t have that problem this year) so what kind of gear would you suggest to keep myself from getting frost bite, and skating along the trails instead of running? Hi Hayley, What exercises would help get the look of Carrie Underwood's muscular, toned legs? I thought she looked awesome at the CMAs and she's got a great fit look without the thick thighs that you can sometimes see when you build up those muscles. Something that I say all the time is you have to be comfortable at being uncomfortable so I was not surprised to read an article in The New York Times that reviewed a recent study which provided scientific evidence that positive self talk increases how hard you can actually push yourself.  I will not get into the details of the study so if you want to read it, click here... Full Article

Hi, Hayley, I'm a graduate student/teacher who used to have healthy habits (mid-range BMI, 3-4 60 min workouts per week, lots of vegetables and home cooked meals) and now I feel so busy/stressed that I'm not making time for myself and for my health. I've gained 20 pounds over the past few years of grad school, mostly due to inactivity and taking comfort in food. Full Article

Hi Hayley, I really dislike the fact that I have a flabby stomach and I don't know how to get rid of it. Although I'm not super-fit, I'm no couch potato either and I'm smack in the middle of my BMI range. My regular weekly routine includes 2 spin classes, 1 ballet fit class (adopted recently to replace a 30-minute run and to improve my posture/core) and one optional chill day of swimming/long walks/run/badminton/whatever I feel like. Full Article
