Dear Hayley, I just saw a photo of myself and realized that I need to lose 30lbs. It was a rude awakening. Since turning 30 a few years ago, the extra weight has crept on so slowly that I haven't even really noticed. Hi Hayley, I've never been a terribly active person, but I'm trying really hard to change. Unfortunately, having been sedentary for many years means that I'm terribly out of shape. Hi Hayley, I'm 9 months postpartum with my second baby. I'm pretty much down to my pre-pregnancy weight but as most women say, things just aren't fitting the same. I feel this much more now that the first time around. I carried my second baby much higher and I feel so much wider in my ribcage. Full Article

We all know you can’t spot reduce and the best way to get the arms, legs and abs that you want is to follow a healthy diet, drink lots of water and burn calories! Yes, strength training will burn calories as well as get your metabolism rocking but you also need to get your heart rate up. My last post focused on how to get lean, toned legs and today we bring the focus above the waist to the upper body. Everyone who will be walking down the red carpet on February 28th will be looking their absolute best. I’m turning 50 this year and have decided to celebrate by walking 50 miles in one day with a friend of mine who’s also just turned 50. After much debating about location, we’ve settled on the streets/parks of NYC for a variety of reasons (easy access to facilities/resources of all kinds, no need to schedule pick-ups or drop-offs, friends can easily meet up with us for legs of the journey, we both moved here 25 years ago, we love it, etc). Full Article

Dear Hayley, I love(d) being outside - rock climbing, skiing, hiking, paddling. That's what I did to escape, have fun and be with friends. But the last few years I have spent most of my time sick or injured or recovering. In 2012, I tore the vertebral artery in my neck in a freak ski accident (getting off the chairlift) and had a stroke. Full Article

I was excited to get a Magic Bullet blender for Christmas. I'd like to use it to make some healthy smoothies or shakes. I'm not looking to do a cleanse or go on a liquid diet, but I thought this would be a good way to incorporate more veggies, especially spinach, into my diet. A lot of the recipes I've seen are fairly heavy on fruits, which I've read can just fill you up with sugar. Full Article
