Hi Hayley.  This weekend I completed my 5th Underwear Affair 10k race in Vancouver and for the first time ever I came in under an hour (under 57 minutes to be exact, 13 minutes faster than last year!).  I wasn’t actively trying to go faster than last year; somehow it just worked out that way. Full Article

Hi Hayley, I recently found out I am pregnant (yay).  I like to exercise including running and weight lifting.  I know my workouts need to change but I’m not sure exactly how.  I was hoping you could share some exercises that were safe for me and my baby. Thanks! Congratulations on your pregnancy!  You are right  that your workouts do need to change but for the most part you can continue to do what you have been doing up to a certain point. Full Article

Hi Hayley, This winter I really got into running, and am now training to run my first half marathon in October! I’ve been running three times a week steadily over the winter and spring, and am now able to run up to 14k on my long runs. Now that the weather is getting hot and humid, I’ve begun to notice that my timing and energy is being affected. Full Article

Hi Hayley, What sort of fitness routine would you suggest for someone who has weak joints (due to hyper flexibility)? I'm relatively fit, but I've stopped running because my knees and ankles hurt too much from it, and I've haven't been lifting significantly because of back, wrist, and shoulder injuries. Full Article

Hi Hayley, I love reading your column. I have a question. I have been trying to make exercising and strength training a regular part of my routine (in addition to healthy eating) to tone up and lose weight. I was finding that working out after work was not working unless it was pure cardio like jogging or biking (I hate strength training) as I would just make excuses after work because I was cranky, tired or hungry. Full Article

I love reading her posts, and am super jealous that you have someone like her in your life.
