Smutty Fitness: Losing the belly pooch

Hayley Posted by Hayley at June 4, 2012 12:51:11 June 4, 2012 12:51:11

Hi Hayley, I'm 27, almost 28, 5'6" and about 125 pounds. I consider my weight to be pretty healthy and I work out about 4 times a week--cardio all 4 days and weight training usually 3. Anyway, while I'm a pretty thin person, I have almost always had a lower belly "pooch" my entire adult life. Full Article

Smutty Fitness: I’m exercising but I’m not losing weight

Hayley Posted by Hayley at May 31, 2012 13:27:11 May 31, 2012 13:27:11

Hi Hayley, I am 29, 5'7" and about 145 pounds.  I have always been pretty active but for the past year or so have really not been exercising consistently.  I ordered the Insanity workout and started it about 45 days ago.  While I have toned up some (mostly my shoulders/arms and calf muscles) I have not lost any weight yet. Full Article

Smutty Fitness: Quick Breakfast Before Workout

Hi Hayley, I have a diet question for you.  I signed myself up at a local hot yoga studio a couple months ago and have been loving it.  But to avoid fainting in class, it is really important to eat a balanced meal before I go.  For the evening classes this isn't usually a problem, but I have been attending a lot of morning classes and find it really hard to eat something substantial enough to sustain me through the class. Full Article

Smutty Fitness: Find A Summer Challenge

Hayley Posted by Hayley at May 25, 2012 13:30:29 May 25, 2012 13:30:29

I told myself that after I had completed the Boston Marathon I was going to challenge myself with something completely different as I felt as though I had reached my potential with running (well, for a little while anyways) and I was starting to crave something new. I will do another marathon again but for now I will be riding this... Full Article

Smutty Fitness: Exercises For Back Pain

Hi Hayley, I'm a 26 year old woman.  About two years ago I fell down and ended up injuring my back.  The injury turned into a serious back spasm about a month after the fall.  I recovered from the spasm after a few weeks (the doctor gave me a muscle relaxant), but I've continued to have problems ever since then. Full Article

Smutty Fitness Fashion: LOLE

Lainey Posted by Lainey at May 15, 2012 18:57:35 May 15, 2012 18:57:35

Without naming names, I’ve been having a quality problem with a certain brand of active-wear. The clothes are stylish but they fall apart. They never used to, but they do now. At that price, the falling apart is not acceptable. Especially not after such a short time. So I broke up with them. And now Lolé is my new jam. Full Article

Smutty Fitness: 10 lbs in 2 months

Hayley Posted by Hayley at May 11, 2012 12:54:45 May 11, 2012 12:54:45

Hi Hayley,I hope you can help me with my fitness goals. I don't have a huge amount of weight I'd like to lose. I mostly need to tone up a bit. I'd ideally like to lose about 10 pounds in two months or so. But here's the kicker, I'm struggling with disordered eating. It's probably a mild form of yo-yo, where I eat very little for as long as I can until I snap and binge and then purge. Full Article

Smutty Fitness: Post work-out quick makeover

Hayley Posted by Hayley at May 9, 2012 13:22:37 May 9, 2012 13:22:37

We all live busy lives and try to fit in as much as we can into our days and one of the first things to go when we are short on time is our workout.  I am fortunate that I live in workout wear and it does not matter if I have sweaty hair or no makeup on at work so that means that I can squeeze in my workout whenever I have a break. Full Article

Smutty Fitness: Training Smart After Illness

Hayley Posted by Hayley at May 3, 2012 13:58:27 May 3, 2012 13:58:27

Hi, Hayley,   I was training for a 10-mile spring race and all was going well — till I got struck down six weeks ago by a sinus infection that has since become "walking" pneumonia. I of course dropped training when I realised I was well and truly ill (although I pushed on a couple weeks longer than I maybe should have), but I wasn't able to simply drop my full-time job, taking three spring-semester classes (a second degree is an insane idea, btw), doing freelance on the side and a trip across the Pond to see my Londoner boyfriend. Full Article
