Let Go of your old stuff with letgo
It’s time for a winter wardrobe edit – calling it an “edit” is totally obnoxious but it gets me motivated because closet-clearing is a bummer chore. And also, I’m kind of hoarder when it comes to clothes and shoes and accessories. But I have to handle the truth: some things don’t fit anymore. And I need room to bring in the items that do. Bonus: uncluttering is good feng shui.
This year, rather than donating everything I’m getting rid of, I’m going to list a few items for sale on letgo and then donate the proceeds to charity (in the name of the purchaser – could be you?). For those of you who don’t know, letgo is a cool new mobile app that recently launched in Canada that lets users buy and sell locally. You can find pretty much whatever you need on letgo – from electronics and furniture, to sports equipment and fashion. And it’s really easy to use. Typically I have avoided these types of services in the past because they felt like too much effort and I’m tech-lazy. But letgo invited me to try and I can tell you with confidence that it’s not hard at all. It’s the only app of its kind in Canada that uses cutting-edge image recognition and artificial intelligence to auto-title and categorize your items so you don’t have to. That means it only takes a few seconds to post something for sale – you don’t even have to type a word or a price. If you haven’t already, you can download the app here.
Anyway, in an effort to find a new and loving home for some of my favourite pieces, I’ll be listing them for sale on letgo starting this week. I’ll set a minimum price for each item, but since the money is going to charity, I’m going to give it to whoever offers the highest price by a set date. Also included is a signed copy of my book with each item, and each buyer will also have the opportunity to select where to donate the money to from the list of charities below:
Follow me on Instagram (@laineygossip and the link will be in my bio) where I’ll post each item as its listed starting later today. Thanks for the support! And I hope you like my picks – especially the shoes!
