Drew plays a girl called Sophie. It’s always Sophie! Or Lucy! Or Casey! She stars opposite Hugh Grant who, for some reason, can find chemistry with almost anyone.

Come to think of it, why haven’t Hugh Grant and Kate Hudson starred in a romantic comedy together? Manslinger would chew him up, non?

So anyway, about Music & Lyrics, if you haven’t seen it, then you don’t know about the opening sequence. And the opening sequence is watchable over and over and over again…if you are a fan of the 80s. And Friday Night Lights.

Do you recognise 6?

Pop! Goes My Heart

You are gold…and sil-vvah-haha!

I love how embarrassed Hugh is throughout the entire film, more so than usual. I love that his squirmy-ness is extra amplified. I love that he knows he deserves the beans but is too much of a greedy prick to turn down the money.

It’s the kind of move that makes staying in on a Saturday night totally worthwhile. Because you know Hugh has it worse than you do. Seriously, in that horrible cheese Twilight way, Music & Lyrics is a great time with a girlfriend. Make it a drinking game. Every time Hugh looks flummoxed, throw back a shot.

Music and Lyrics premieres on W Network on Saturday, March 7 at 9pm E/P.
