Sponsored Tingles: Bridget Jones “Edge” on W
W Network’s TripleFlix movie event is back tomorrow (and every Saturday this fall). Three blockbuster movies back to back to back with a premiere movie in the 9pm E/P slot. Tomorrow (Saturday, November 14th) it’s Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason at 9pm E/P starring Renee Z, Colin Firth, and Hugh Grant.
Despite several erroneous reports to the contrary, Bridget Jones 3 has not been greenlit and both Renee Zellweger and Colin Firth have said separately they've heard nothing about reprising their roles. So what we have left of Bridget on screen is The Edge of Reason from 2004. It's been 5 years. Sequels are rarely as good as originals and this is no different. But I love Renee's Bridget. I love everything about the way she played Bridget. Her expressions, her accent, her body, and even her walk. Renee's Bridget bounces and waddles all at the same time. It kills me. Favourite scene from the second film: definitely when she can't help herself staring at Mark when he's sleeping. Her busted face in that yellow dress at the smart person party was pretty great too. And I love it when Mark comes to see her in the Thai prison. Can't help it. I get the throat lumps.
