I interviewed Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones yesterday at the junket for The Theory Of Everything. As already mentioned, the film is SOOOOOOO good. And their performances are …well…everything. The key here is that the story is told from her perspective. So it’s not really a biopic but a film about partnership. Full Story

In the last six years—ever since the economy took a sh*t in the world’s bed—the markets at film festivals have drawn down. Deals still get made at a comparable rate to pre-economy-sucking-it-hard days, but where once distributors were willing to throw money around to make a statement, expenditures on acquisitions have gone down, and now it’s not uncommon for even well-regarded films to sell for “paltry” sums in the low six figures. Full Story

Justin Theroux joined Jennifer Aniston this afternoon for the premiere of her new film Cake at TIFF. He’s actually been here a couple of days. Was photographed at the Warner Bros party on Saturday night without her. Today they did not walk the carpet together but agreed to a shot inside. As for Cake…well… You’ve heard it before: get ugly for Oscar. Full Story

Full disclosure: I have a thing for James Franco. He's on my list - usually at the top. Lainey may call him the "Artist," and think he can be insufferable, but in my mind, he's a phenomenal talent. I respect his creative flexibility, his academic pursuits, acting skills and Seth Rogen obsession. Full Story

It was Bill Murray day at TIFF on Friday. So even though celebrities were there to promote their own films, many ended up at the St Vincent after-party because, well, Bill Murray is the life of every party. Kristen Wiig was there when she’d finished up promoting her film Welcome To Me. Scott Speedman is at the festival because it’s home and because he has October Gale later this week. Full Story

Jason Reitman's Men, Women and Children boasts an impressive ensemble cast including Jennifer Garner, Adam Sandler, Rosemarie DeWitt, and new Hollywood heartthrob Ansel Elgort, but the best scene of the movie goes to, who else, but Judy Greer. "Oh, and I'm going to put a seven-digit security code on my daughter's vagina. Full Story

As you may have read leading up to TIFF, Cara Delevingne was on my TIFF 2014 Watch List. I thought she’d be drama. I thought she’d light up the party scene. I thought maybe she’d tear up a few parties. I was right. And I was wrong. She deserved to be on the Watch List. She totally delivered. Full Story
