Today is the day of liking things I wish I hated. This morning, I wrote about how I love Slide, in spite of my extreme distain for Calvin Harris. When Emily sent over a video of The Voice coaches singing Waterfalls, one of my all-time favourite songs and TLC’s signature track, I was skeptical. Full Story

Around the LaineyGossip offices (read: email threads) I am the go-to for Mae Whitman stuff. This was mostly a holdover from falling in love with her on Parenthood, combined with the knowledge that she and Lauren Graham had kind of adopted each other (more on this later). Full Story

The Black Bachelorette

33 seasons ago, The Bachelor franchise started its journey. The journey has been full of roses, helicopter rides, sequined dresses, all of the douchebags in America, itty bitty bikinis and gaudy Neil Lane diamonds. Sheila and Joel are an average suburban couple with average suburban problems. Their teenage daughter, Abby, wants a car they can’t really afford, their realty business is maybe not so hot, and upon finding his wife’s dead body in an open house’s bathroom, Joel is a little excited. Full Story

When it was announced a few weeks ago that Kristen Stewart would be hosting Saturday Night Live, I wrote that I was excited, excited because I thought she was ready, ready to claim all that’s been said about her over the last decade, and laugh at her public persona, and then “swing the conversation in a new direction”. Full Story

I know nothing really matters today except for Beyoncé’s pregnancy Glamour Shots, but the premiere of Santa Clarita Diet was last night and Very Handsome Man Timothy Olyphant was there, being very handsome—we’re reaching the “silver fox” stage of Olyphant’s hotness. Full Story

If you’re a regular visitor here at LaineyGossip, you know how much I love black-ish. If you’re new to this site, please know that I love black-ish, SO MUCH. Black-ish is about the Johnsons, their kids, and their extended family. Bow and Dre have four kids, with one on the way, so with such a big cast, we don’t get to spend much time with each of the children individually, which is another reason why the show is so great because even still, every character is fully formed and individual. Full Story
