Have received a few alarming emails about this, and many of you have sent along the links to comments on message boards. Here’s a good example. It’s disturbing. That The Chosen One can’t get a haircut without her parents being accused of child abuse or deliberately turning her into a lesbian/transgender/freak – their words, not mine.

I’ve ragged about this before – when did it become mandatory for girls to wear pink and pigtails and boys to wear blue and blazers? Beyond this issue however, wouldn’t most parents simply understand it’s just easier this way?

When we were growing up, we all had short hair. In a bowl. My cousin Can and I, we longed to grow it. We used to put towels over our heads and pretend it was hair. And we were denied by other mothers who chose practicality over high maintenance. Said my mother, the Squawking Chicken:

Why rushing? If you lucky enough to be pretty like mommy, why you want pretty so early? Your whole life you can be pretty. Pretty now and the people they get boring.

So they cut her hair and let her wear pants. Whatever. It’s cute. It shows personality. It doesn’t mean she’ll grow up and bulldyke your daughter. And if that’s what she eventually chooses...great.

Shiloh looks pretty sharp, non? The one with her hand in her pocket kills me. Pitt Steeze, Daddy’s style gene. Adorable.

Brad took the girls shopping while Angelina was shooting on set yesterday. Miss Zahara appears to be developing an early shoe fetish. That’s my girl.
