Who will bring the Punk?
There will be a lot of safe tonight at the MET Gala, despite the Punk theme of the event this year. Most actresses in particular just don’t have the imagination or the balls. The punk pressure then may be on the musicians.
A press release was just sent out -- Gwen Stefani will be wearing a custom designed Maison Martin Margiela. Well, that’s promising. Here’s Gwen performing with the Rolling Stones at Staples Centre the other night. And here’s Florence Welch arriving at her New York hotel yesterday. You remember what Florence wore last year at the MET Gala? Click here for a refresher. That is exactly how you do at this event. Looking forward to her punk interpretation.
And then there’s Katy Perry. Katy’s been all florals lately in New York, hitting up an event almost every night showing off what appears to be a style evolution. I guess this...
... isn’t happening anymore?
I mean, if there’s one night for it to happen again, it would be this one, especially when the name of the party is your excuse.
But if there’s one actress who’d be willing to take a punk risk, it could be Kirsten Dunst. Kirsten wore a Rodarte t-shirt on her way from LA to NYC on Friday. She also wore Rodarte (she’s one of their favourites) last year at the MET Gala. Click here to see. Kiki might bring it.
And the Olsens too but I’m not sure we’d call them actresses anymore.
