Orville Redenbacher’s recently launched four new flavours of ready to eat popcorn adding the tangy taste of dill, the zesty spice of chipotle, the sweet and savoury decadence of kettlecorn, and the sharp bite of white cheddar to the iconic popcorn brand’s list of innovative products.  They are Dill Pickle, Sweet & Salty Kettlecorn, White Cheddar, and White Cheddar Chipotle.

To celebrate the launch, Orville Redenbacher’s is partnering with the Toronto International Film Festival to send you there to experience it for yourself.  Popcorn in hand.

In case you would like more background on Orville – a brief history

"You'll like it better or my name isn't Orville Redenbacher." That's the promise Orville made more than 40 years ago—and the same promise the brand stands by today. Popcorn hadn’t changed much in five-thousand years until Redenbacher and his business partner Charlie Bowman came along. They spent decades breeding more than 30 thousand hybrids to find that perfect pop.

Originally named Red-Bow, their new breed of popping corn was sold out the back of a station wagon to stores across Indiana until they decided to consult with a marketing firm based in Chicago. “They came up with the same name my mother did for free,” laughed Orville Redenbacher years later.

Orville Redenbacher was born on a farm in Indiana in 1907. His love of popcorn started early as he raised and sold popcorn in the 1920’s while he was in grade school. After studying agriculture at Purdue University in the 1930s and teaching high school, he devoted himself to making the perfect popcorn.

The Redenbacher-Bowman variety expands to about forty times its volume, making it lighter and fluffier. It also leaves fewer unpopped kernels, which Redenbacher called “the shy ones.”
