The new cover of Entertainment Weekly featuring the two sure bets at for this year’s Oscars. It seems a foregone conclusion that Daniel Day-Lewis will take Best Actor and Javier Bardem will take Best Supporting… Even George Clooney has conceded: “If you want my honest opinion, I think it’s going to be Daniel Day-Lewis. Daniel Day-Lewis is pretty much guaranteed an Oscar nomination after the LA Film Critics Association named him Best Actor for There Will Be Blood. The film also won best picture and director putting Blood in good position for an awards season run. Then again, Daniel Day-Lewis could fart and still get honoured. Full Story

Johnny Depp is so perfect it’s almost unkind. What’s even more unkind however is that Johnny has no Oscar, though that may change this year. Sweeney Todd is due out at Christmas and the buzz is building. The handicaps keep changing but word according to insiders now is that it’ll be Johnny vs Daniel Day Lewis in a photo finish. Full Story
