Elisabeth Moss: Emmys Worst Dressed (Lainey)

Millennial Pink is the official name of this colour. Winning Pink is what I’m calling it from now on at award shows. Gwyneth Paltrow wore pink, in this material, taffeta, when she won the Oscar. Anne Hathaway wore pink, in the same material, when she won her Oscar. And now it’s Elisabeth Moss, the Best Drama Actress Emmy winner, finally, after so many previous nominations. If you recall, all the winning pink dresses were never the best. You win the trophy in Winning Pink. But you don’t win the style prize. Fair trade, I guess.

I just don’t know why it has to be mutually exclusive. Elisabeth Moss was basically dressed like Millie Bobby Brown last night, only a much, much, MUCH lesser version. Why is an Emmy winning actress AND producer (!) wearing an inferior version of a 13 year old’s prom dress? And why couldn’t Elisabeth prom dress, at the very least, look more polished, less sloppy? The whole thing deflated even before she stepped on the carpet. Her arrival photos look like the end of night photos, after the party, after she’d been dancing all over the place. And none of it looks like what she just did. Elisabeth Moss showed her work on The Handmaid’s Tale. She’s the producer. She had a hand in every single decision, every frame of every episode – on top of her acting. Her series, in its first season, was just declared the best out of all other series. That’s boss. But the boss came in a child’s dress. I don’t understand.
