I hated the book because I couldn’t bear Chris McCandless. I still can’t bear Chris McCandless but the movie was much more tolerable. Almost enjoyable. Into the Wild was written (screenplay) and directed by Sean Penn based on the book of the same name by Jon Krakauer chronicling the extreme journey taken by an idealistic, jaded, and tragically sensitive young man who ended up dead in an abandoned bus in Alaska after living off the land for over 100 days. Wow. Robin Wright Penn the other night at the premiere of Into the Wild – she looks unbelievable, non? That body, those legs – love, love, love. Am surprised their relationship has made it this far, this long. There have long been reports of volatile behaviour and there was some suggestion of straying on her part a few years ago…never substantiated. Full Story
