A little surprising on her… Reese isn’t normally a hat girl. It’s about attitude,
it’s about a little funk and sass, am all over hats, have a bit of a hat addiction (especially Eugenia Kim),
and this one is perfect. The rim isn’t too wide, sits well on her head, the band can be accented with its own
accessory… too bad the poor thing is getting bored to death worn by someone so conservative.

The White Dress
Call me Cruise but what’s so special about another virginal strapless white dress that looks just like the others? Here’s a white dress that needs to be rocked. And Natalie Portman rocked it that night at AMFAR in Cannes. I remember when she walked in. I remember noticing the bounce in her step. There was a smirk on her face that night. She was smirking from confidence. She was owning every inch of it.
Beautifully constructed, fit her perfectly, it was softer than it seems, I swear I remember thinking she’d be having sex in that dress that night… there was something so coquettish about the way she touched and smoothed it all around her. Check her out working the auction….have you ever seen anything so beguiling?
Must be that new man of hers. Devendra Banhart. They say he’s into tantric sex…super bendy. They were together that night holding hands after the event – seen here in these photos that weren’t widely circulated.

The Black Dress
My Gwyneth’s perfect black dress from Cannes on a day when she absolutely glowed at the Two Lovers photo call. It looked comfortable and classy and she moved like a cloud and those highlights and her patronising smile… even my producer Laura S was impressed. It is tough to impress Laura S.
But isn’t her expression the best?
Oh fine. Let me sign that autograph for you. Let me make your day. Let me make your life.

The Purple Dress
I saw her checking in at the Majestic as I was leaving a junket. She was so small and unassuming, didn’t have anyone fluttering around her, patiently waiting for her turn. Michelle Williams was at the festival to promote Synedoche. And it wasn’t so much the dress as how she wore it.
So serene but fragile, she did not want to pose alone, and it was the way her co-stars surrounded and protected her, held her hand, and how she smiled back at them endearingly as she took her first cautious steps back in public after losing the love of her life… I’m not a crier but I felt like crying and hugging her myself.
The dress was part armour, part defiant challenge.
As she stepped inside the palais, she took a deep breathe and gave Catherine Keener a grateful grin. And then Catherine like a big sister bent down and looked her in the eye and they had a moment. And you have to admire the way celebrities publicise their grief these days, how Michelle Williams actually achieved the impossible and survived it with dignity. In purple.

The Turquoise
Have the red, currently wearing the whites, but am now searching desperately for the turquoise. LOVE the turquoise Ray-Bans for summer. Sienna Miller wore them at Coachella and they looked amazing. Wish I’d saved all mine from the 80s. Can you imagine?

The 80s Fighting Queen
We saw Jean Claude Van Damme in Cannes and we were like… what the f7ck? He was there promoting some sh*t, who cares. The point is – JCVD had the best gay face, like, ever. A gay face fossil from the 80s.
