Kate Winslet Gossip
Despite current internal strife over strike authorisation, the Screen Actors Guild nominations were announced today, most of it lining up as expected but for one or two surprises. Leonardo DiCaprio for Revolutionary Road was left off the ballot in favour of Brad Pitt. Full Story
Last night in Los Angeles, Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio at the premiere of Revolutionary Road, their Oscar hopeful directed by Kate’s husband Sam Mendes, also nominated for a Golden Globe along with his two actors and also considered a good bet when the Academy makes its announcements on January 22nd. Kate Winslet in London yesterday at a private screening of The Reader for which she just received a Best Supporting Actress Golden Globe nomination. As opposed to the overbronzed overblonde Hollywood divorcee clone Kate from last week, this is the Kate I know and love. The one Halle Berry said is always naked sitting on a toilet in a movie. Full Story
I can’t think of Kate & Leo now without thinking of Liam Neeson and Thomas Sangster in Love Actually. “Worse than the total agony of being in love?” Kills me. Anyway, as you know, Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio, 10 years since Titanic, have reunited on screen for Revolutionary Road. Full Story
Kate Winslet with Ralph Fiennes last night at the NY premiere of The Reader. Of course she’s gorgeous. Of course she’s kickin’ it in that Herve Leger. But this … is this your Kate? This overtanned, overblonde Real Housewife of Some County? Maybe it’s just me. Anyway, Kate is officially kicking off her double Oscar run – entered into contention in the Best Supporting Actress category for The Reader and the Best Actress Category for Revolutionary Road which has been building upon very positive early praise for both her and Leo and the flow of the film as a whole. Double girl crush! Last year Cate Blanchett was nominated for Best Actress and Supporting Actress at the Oscars. This year, the same honour could go to Kate Winslet, already the youngest actress to received 5 nominations. Kate’s work in Revolutionary Road with Leonardo DiCaprio is, right now, considered a lock. Love Kate Winslet? I can’t imagine. That unremarkable Hilary Swank has 2 Oscars. Kate Winslet has none. What.The.F*ck??? This is a glorious Kate Winslet on the cover of the new issue of Vanity Fair. Kate has 2 movies contending this awards season and could be competing against herself in the Best Actress Category in both Revolutionary Road with Leonardo DiCaprio and The Reader with Ralph Fiennes, even though that film is not without controversy as producers are accusing Harvey Weinstein of messing with a project, yet again, to the point of mutiny. It’s always about whose abs you want. Or ass. Or hair. Or nose. It’s never about the hamstrings. Hamstrings are underrated! But I only realised this today. I was just whining at my trainer Hayley yesterday about hamstrings: Why do we have to work on them every time??? Hamstring rolls on that f&cking ball are the worst. Full Story
Smut is subjective but I can’t think of anyone, or remember receiving any message from anyone, who doesn’t love Kate Winslet. Don’t we all love Kate Winslet? Kate, as you know, keeps it low key. Which is why candids of her don’t crop up every other day. So when we see her at an event, all classy and lovely and warm, it’s always a treat. Full Story
She can be hit or miss on the red carpet – this one constitutes a clear “miss” – but who cares? It’s Kate Winslet, buried in an unfortunate dress, and still looking better than ever. Kate showed at the BAFTA event in LA supporting her fellow Brits, even though NYC is now home. Full Story
Two faves… Maggie Gyllenhaal and Kate Winslet last night at the Hugo Boss show both in black cocktails, both wearing booties, and holding hands in the front row… So grade 7 but I want to be their friend. source... Full Story
Kate Winslet total gorgessity last night at a Hugo Boss event. She’s lovely, of course, and looks fantastic in the booties, but what makes a Kate sighting always great is that it doesn’t happen often. It IS possible, you see, to live life relatively privately without the cameras. And on my GirlCrush Freebie Five, Kate definitely is a keeper. Full Story
Kate Winslet, of course. Who doesn’t love Kate Winslet? Here she is the new issue of Harper’s Bazaar looking ravishing but also refreshingly ordinary. In an accessible, appealing, comfortable “ordinary” kind of way. The best kind of “ordinary”. Like the Foo Fighters’ Hero: There goes my hero… watch him as he go. Full Story
Seems fitting. Am in London. Am in love with London. Am in love with Kate Winslet. Kate Winslet’s new ads for Lancome… Total gorgessity. Also the first still of her and Leo from Revolutionary Road. Look at him. Look at him looking at her. Look at that quiverating hotness. What I would give if he looked at me so. Full Story
There’s something to be said about the beauty of Managed Expectations, you know? Some people get it, some people don’t overreach – broken record, I know, and still every day, another two bit tv actress comes along and wants to be Cate Blanchett. Which is why it’s so refreshing that Katie Heigl has no such delusions. Full Story
Ten years ago, barely into her 20s, Kate Winslet was nominated for an Oscar, starring in the highest grossing movie of all time. Not exactly a low pressure situation. But for all the excuses made on behalf of Lindsay Lohan and the others – that it must be so difficult dealing with fame, that it can’t be easy living under a microscope…somehow, if acting is really what you’re serious about, it is possible to end up normal. Full Story
Not that any amount of surgery or martian intervention could changes things and of course, Jessica Simpson is not even the smallest fraction of what Kate Winslet is but still… both by Hollywood standards are not stick insects, both have curves, both have bodies that are probably hated by Anna Wintour and in spite of all that, few can come close to the gorgessity of Kate Winslet. Full Story
I cannot tell you how f&cking brilliant this movie is. The kind of movie that stays with you and bothers you for days. I LOVED Little Children. I loved Kate Winslet in Little Children. She is complicated and conflicted and not all that likeable but very likeable and believable and … there are no words. Full Story
Titanic was on tv the other day. I watched for a bit and even though I saw it twice 10 years ago, it was like seeing it again for the first time – I think I discarded every scene but the cheesy ones from memory.
Anyway…they both looked SO young. And Titanic Leo was SUCH a Pipsqueak Leo. And his floppy hair was SO Tiger Beat Leo. Full Story
