The healing power of good hair…
Haven’t had good hair since breaking my arm. Aside from no golf, one of the worst downsides to a gimpy arm is that I can’t wash my own hair. As such, my husband has been washing my hair. And it’s really not as sexy as it sounds. Because I spend the entire time fighting with him about how much product to use. He squirts out a dime sized dollop on his palm and thinks it’s enough. Next I get a lecture about wasting shampoo. The next 10 minutes is about me pleading with him not to be so cheap. At the end of a very unsatisfying scrub he’ll douse my head in too much conditioner. For some reason it hasn’t been drying the same either.
Bad hair leads to bad everything else: felt dumpy, didn’t want to get dressed, didn’t even want to exfoliate. I normally love exfoliating. But looking cute seemed impossible.
Then, on the advice of the ladies in my book club on Monday night, I went for a blow out yesterday. Totally made my life.
It is the power of good hair. Good hair can move mountains. Good hair could end conflict. Jennifer Aniston has good hair every day. And still she always manages to find something to cry about. This has always confounded me.
SJP has good hair often too. She had great hair last night on the pink carpet at the NYC premiere of Sex & the City. Photos to follow.
