Welcome to the obligatory hot dudes post, we’re starting with the men from The Bear because I know a lot of you are horny for Jeremy Allen White, so here he is with bonus Cousin Richie in the form of Ebon Moss-Bachrach.
Ebon once again rocked a banker suit to an award show, but JAW delivered in an Armani tux with a classic dinner jacket. Is anyone else getting Dirty Dancing vibes from JAW in this tux?
Other hot dudes include Donald Glover, looking absolutely f-cking stellar in a velvet embroidered suit by Bode, accessorized with ballet flats. I am here for the sensible shoe agenda crossing gender lines! Sensible shoes are for everyone! I am also here for Tatanka Means—he guest-starred in season two of Reservation Dogs—also looking absolutely f-cking stellar in a green velvet suit.
There is also Tyler James Williams rocking an all-leather number from Dolce & Gabbana, which is sort of ick, but as Lainey pointed out, everyone already forgave Balenciaga, so yeah, Tyler James Williams is just another person wearing D&G these days.
Of the hot dudes here, only Steven Yeun wore a standard black suit and tie, but he makes it work by virtue of being so incredibly handsome. Lainey asked why Steven hasn’t hosted SNL yet or been cast in any comedies. He’s been in some comedy-adjacent stuff, like Nope and Tuca & Bertie and Sorry to Bother You, and he’s in a standout sketch in I Think You Should Leave (the “my stomach’s f-cked now” sketch, which is not online for some reason), but that might answer the SNL question.
I think Lorne Michaels might be weird about ITYSL, as it comes from Tim Robinson, who is one of the only people ever demoted from cast to writing staff at SNL, and then got fired as a writer only a year after that. ITYSL then got picked up by Netflix, and the first season is almost entirely made up of rejected SNL sketches, and it has widely been praised as cutting-edge sketch comedy over the last few years—no one has called SNL cutting edge comedy since Eddie Murphy left. I just think Lorne has a bugaboo about Tim Robinson and his comedy friend circle. We’ll see if and when Steven Yeun ever gets invited to host.
Finally, behold Colman Domingo, the dictionary definition of “serving” this awards season. He did not disappoint at the Emmys, showing up in a Louis Vuitton suit with a long jacket, accessorizing with jewelry from REZA, including a jeweled pin in lieu of a bowtie. Once again, Colman is doing the best.
