Adam Sandler’s Blended is currently rating at a low 14% on Rotten Tomatoes. The movie opened on Memorial Day weekend lower than expected earning just over $14 million dollars. This should not be a surprise. To anyone. Especially if you’ve seen the trailer. Or, you know, any of his last 5 or 6 or more movies. But don’t worry about Adam Sandler. Adam Sandler is going to be FINE.

Adam Sandler has 3 more projects in production, NONE of them in danger of losing funding or support.

Last year, when Sandra Bullock, Melissa McCarthy, and director Paul Feig were promoting The Heat, he mentioned that there was so much pressure on the movie to do well because it was the only female driven feature of the summer and if it ended up not making money, it would be even harder to get other female projects off the ground.

Here’s what I wrote at the time

More importantly though, (Feig) also said that since The Heat is the ONLY big studio picture featuring two female leads this summer, there likely won’t be another one if it doesn’t do well at the box office. That’s how the industry is set up right now. Adam Sandler can send out as much bullsh-t as he wants, over and over and over again, but women only get one chance. Just…maybe some incentive – if you needed more – to go see The Heat?

Well, here we are again. Thanks God Cameron Diaz and Leslie Mann delivered in The Other Woman, non?

Here’s Sandler enjoying his Memorial Day with his family.
