Everyone was hoping Adele’s next album, at the time titled 25, would have been ready last year. Obviously that didn’t happen. But Billboard reported yesterday that her label is working towards a November release.
Wait. That totally deserved an exclamation point. Let me do that again.
A new album from Adele coming in November!!!!!!!
Pharrell revealed a couple of months ago that he’d been in studio with her:
“I've seen her recently. She's kinda like, 'Okay, guys, I'm gonna open my diary for 20 minutes'. So it's like, okay, you have 20 minutes, or 32 minutes. Then she gives it to you and closes it up and disappears, and she's off with her beautiful boy – and that's what it’s all about.”
And in July, Ed Sheeran said on the radio that, “I haven’t heard [Adele’s album], but everyone I know who’ve worked on it is just like, ‘Dude… that record!’ Apparently, it’s really good.”
Well, of course it’s really good. It’s Adele. Her first album, 19, was really strong. Her last album, 21, was the biggest deal in music when it came out. Adele’s 27 right now. That’s not known to be a good number for musicians. If anyone can change that, she can.
