Jacek went to play “business golf” today. I know. He left at 6:30am after I told him to get the hell out of my face because he kept talking when I was writing. Was listening to the radio on the way to the course. Had to bbm me about the Angelina Jolie story that everyone keeps talking about. I think he felt badly that I was working and he was “golf working”. We’re not usually so considerate of each other.

So the Jolie was interviewed by Sanjay Gupta on CNN to draw more awareness about the devastation in Pakistan and Gupta asked her about how, after meeting victims and seeing the horror firsthand, she decompresses, whether she shares her feelings with friends, etc. Her response:

"I'll talk to my family. I talk to Brad; he wants to know as much as he can about these issues and every trip. He's been here as well, he came with me after the earthquake. But I don't know, I don't have a lot of friends I talk to. He is really the only person I talk to. I tell my children why I'm going and I explain to them, why I was packing flashlights and food. They help me pack things. It helps them to be better people to understand a little bit about the world.”

She kind of looked away and laughed a little when she said it. So now of course it’s not about Pakistan and all about how Angelina Jolie has no friends, only babies.

Dude. Did you really think this woman was a girls’ girl?

I am a girls’ girl. I prefer being around girls than boys. I prefer sometimes being around my friends than my husband. It’s my natural habitat. I know many though, and have a few relatives too, who simply don’t feel comfortable being around other women. Maybe they were meangirled. Or maybe it’s a totally organic development. Some would argue you can’t miss what you don’t know. I suppose that could be true in certain respects. That’s my answer about having kids. But...

I couldn’t help but feel a little sad for her. It would suck not to have friends. Duana and I have talked about this before. Really pretty girls have problems with this. You think they have everything but that’s why people hate them. Then again, some really pretty girls are just big bitches. I am undecided about the root source of Angelina’s friendlessness. You?
