Angelina Jolie was in New York last night for the 4th Annual Women in the World Summit. She spoke in support of Malala Yousafzai who was shot in the head by the Taliban because she committed the crime of wanting to go to school. Malala survived. She went back to school a few days ago. Jolie has donated $200,000 to the Malala Fund. Here’s the goal of the Malala Fund in Malala’s words:
“Today I’m going to announce the happiest moment of my life and that is the first grant of the Malala fund. In Swat, in my motherland. We are going to educate 40 girls, and I want all of you to support the Malala fund and let us turn 40 girls into 40 million girls,” said Malala, who decided the first grant would go to educate girls, ages five to 12, who are engaged in domestic labor instead of going to school. Here’s the Jolie arriving at the event last night styled like a priestess. I’m disappointed there’s no hood with that black cape so that she can glide as she goes, half human, half saint. The engagement ring, by the way, was on her finger. So they’re not married. They’re still together. And since her clothes are so loose-fitting, sh-t, maybe Star Magazine will say she’s pregnant again.
Here’s the Jolie today toy shopping with a twin, Pax, and a stuffed toy. I need to get me a pair of that goggle situation Pax has on his head. They look badass. And all the other Brange kids who had to stay back at home must be like, aw man, you guys got to go to FAO Schwarz??? Seriously, what is the selection process for these trips?
