When Angelina Jolie told the world about her double mastectomy, she wrote it in an op-ed in the New York Times. When she told the world earlier this year about having her ovaries removed, she wrote it in an op-ed in the New York Times. So it makes sense that she would grant the New York Times an interview to promote By The Sea and be open to them asking her about her marriage, her working relationship with her husband, sexism in Hollywood, and, yes, the Sony hack.

The Jolie claims she did not read any of the emails. As for Amy Pascal? Angie says she wasn't mad, she was worried. But she stresses that it's not because she's perfect and flawless, but because of how the kids would be affected.

“I didn’t read any of them. Someone told me. There are certain things that bother me and certain things that don’t. Personal attacks on me? I think I’m just so used to it. Honestly, my first instinct was that I was worried about Amy. I had someone call her and ask if she was O.K. Not because I’m a saint, but because I think we have to look at the bigger picture. She’s got kids. I knew it was going to unravel for her.”

Game ON.

That's good, isn't it? Of course it's good. She's a master player. If she's taking the question, she wouldn't drop the ball on the answer, would she? No. Not Angelina. Jeremy Renner, maybe, but not Angelina Jolie.

Same goes for her response on sexism in the industry.

“Sexism is part of every industry and must be addressed. But I try not to focus on the negative but the positive side of what we can bring. I want to support other women because of the opportunities I’ve had — and I’ve had a lot of opportunities. What I try as a female director is to do the best job I can and in the meantime bring attention to as many other female directors and writers as I can. Right now I am producing “The Breadwinner,” an animated film about Afghanistan. Nora Twomey is the director.”

She’s owning her own privilege first, see? She’s saying it before you can say it. That she’s “had a lot of opportunities”. And after acknowledging her privilege, she’s pledging to use it as supportive of a way as she can. Really, for her, Angelina Jolie, or, sorry, Angelina Jolie Pitt, as she’s known now, it’s the only way she could respond.

Attached – Brange at a screening for By The Sea in New York last night giving us some decent Pitt Porn. I like this shot of her with her finger in her mouth. I mean it’s not the best Pitt Porn ever, but I feel like they might be banking it for AFI. As you can see, she’s big on this full cuffed sleeve lately, 70s style, like her character in the film. That can’t be accidental either.
