Angelina went shopping with Miss Zahara and the Chosen One Shiloh the other day. Then they all went to In-N-Out Burger. As you can see, the Jolie’s pox has cleared. Maybe it was the rest. Maybe it was the fact that Unbroken exceeded expectations at the box office this week and will likely enjoy another solid weekend, just in time for Academy voters to consider the film’s Oscar nomination chances.
As I mentioned on Monday – click here for a refresher - Unbroken performed well with the Christian demographic. And just yesterday, PEOPLE posted a story about her thoughts on faith. But first…let’s go back to what she’s said in the past when asked “Is there a God?”:
“Hmm … For some people. I hope so, for them. For the people who believe in it, I hope so. There doesn’t need to be a God for me. There’s something in people that’s spiritual, that’s godlike. I don’t feel like doing things just because people say things, but I also don’t really know if it’s better to just not believe in anything, either.” (Source)
And now?
Slightly modified:
"When there is an obstacle, you have to rise to the challenge, not be overwhelmed by it. And we're not alone in the world. I don't know if there's a name for that – religion or faith – just that there's something greater than all of us, and it's uniting and beautiful."
She gave this interview to PEOPLE over two weeks ago, before Unbroken opened, before we learned that the film would resonate with faith-based communities. Clearly though, she knew. She knew the audience to target. So…again… as I asked on Monday…
The wedding? Coincidence or conspiracy?
But it’s New Year’s Eve. Enough strategy talk on New Year’s Eve. Let’s not get too profound on New Year’s Eve. Instead, can we take a look at this bag?
She doesn’t ever really bring the fashion but this bag might be the best bag I’ve ever seen her wear.
