Anna Kendrick arrived back in Vancouver yesterday to work on I’m With Cancer, or whatever it’s now being called or not called, with Seth Rogen and Joseph Gordon-Levitt who replaced James McAvoy. As you know, Anna made her first appearance at the Oscars on Sunday as a Best Supporting Actress nominee – not bad for a maiden voyage down the Kodak red carpet. There was never any question about winning or losing. The key this award season has been the exposure. Anna will work for a while. Done.

The highly anticipated Scott Pilgrim vs the World is due for release in August, and I’m told that even though names like Anne Hathaway and Natalie Portman were being tossed around for this Cancer project, once Anna was interested, they wouldn’t think of anyone else.

As for her love life, as I already reported months ago, she was with Edgar Wright during filming for Pilgrim and he was with her at the BAFTAs a couple weeks ago. Looks like they’re still an item.

Many of you have been asking about James McAvoy and the story behind him dropping out of the project. Please know that there is no scandal. Rather, it is a sad smut situation. If you are a fan, hope for privacy and some time away.

And a final note on Anna – she is awfully thin right now, has been for a while. Vancouver is home to the best Chinese food in the world. Time to hit up some dimsum.
